My plan to NOT go to college

well they either live VERY extravagant lifestyles. get taxed up the ass. have made bad decisions. or something? do they live in NYC or someplace like that with an ultra high cost of living?

cause my grandparents fit into that category, and lets just say they are not hurting for money in the least bit.
 
Coool beans. Just because your parents make excessive amounts of money doesn't mean that 100k a year is for "poor people." 60k a year is middle class; you have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe you should come back down to earth, you snob.
 
average annual household income in the US is somewhere in the $40K range. Notice that this is HOUSEHOLD income.

I don't understand how they can be poor - even if they lived in an ultrahigh cost area. I live in Burlington VT, which isn't exactly the cheapest of all places but it isn't Manhattan either (though easily as expensive as a city suburb) and my wife and I make less than twice the average (while still more). We don't live extragavantly but we have 2 almost new cars, pay our bills, buy some toys, travel (i'm visitng family in europe right now), and we have a bit of money left over - definitely not poor.

I think you need to do some sort of an exchange to live in a family that makes less than national average to see what "normal" is.
 
St Martins is a badass island and they really are starting to expand with new hotels, businesses, and restaurants especially on the dutch side (southwest part of the island). There are only a few bars right now so the demand would be high and start up costs are relatively inexpensive (compared to opening one in the US). Plus all the beaches are topless and littered with young sexy European girls, not fat americans. Definitely a cool place.
 
Just lookin through my old threads, it's been a year and I wanted to know.... hows that workin' out for yah?
 
why not just go to college for biz on student loans, then flee the country and not pay off your loans then use your money to start up a business?

or better yet just get an apprenticeship on a farm and learn how to do that then buy a farm somewhere relatively close to skiing, so that you can SKI!

But you don't see me doin that. Go to college. Your plan won't work.
 
If you put that much money in and it fails, you're fucked.

You realize you can buy a house for 70 grand. Buy a house and barely have to do shit to survive. Or make a big down payment on a nicer house closer to mountains, and rent some of the rooms out to friends.

and actually, if you can, keeping the original people around for a while is a good thing.

My grandma owned a sub shop for 30 plus years: was the towns favorite local place... and when she sold it alot of people were bummed.. but the people made a deal with her that she would work with them a year to make a smooth transition and to learn the ropes and to be able to make the same quality food. that was like 5 years ago, she still works there and the business is still doing great.

if thats what you want to do man, go for it. you dont have to drop that money on college.
