hey guys, here is my new website (first as well).. it is pretty basic, but it gets the point across and the job done

just sharing the link, not looking for a critique on design because i am not a web designer and i did buy it as a theme

thanks all

sick website, one thing i would do is change around the colors for the inspired | creative | dedicated as the red on creative makes it look like it is/should be clickable. other than that, nice site

Winter 2012. “Skier stuck on Pole” personal

video aired nationwide on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel, Inside

Edition and MTV’s Ridiculousness

That's crazy! I had no idea that video made it that far

haha fuck off dude

i actually got a legitimate job interview recently because of it (indirectly) and made $$ from it

:)

Nice site man!

Few things:

- Change your favicon asap.

- I'd remove the 'inspired-creative-dedicated' slogan at the top, al though if you like it, go for it. It's something I'm not very fond of personally

- Under the about section, maybe add a little why it is you love what you do so much, not just list what you do.

I would also remove the 'equipment' section. It's unrelevant. People can see what you can make in your video's and gear doesn't really matter anyway. If they're happy with what they see: great. If they're not: gear isn't gonna change anything.

- Under resume: only list what is relevant for what you do. So remove all the things that have nothing to do with video/photo. Nobody that's going to hire you to make a video is going to care if you were a foodrunner at Winberie's. Keep it strictly to your cinematography related education, publications and professional experience in the field you want to work in. Nothing else matters, and less is better if you don't lose any valuable information.

I'm by no means trying to say your site isn't good, quite the contrary: I love it! It's clean, simple and to the point. Also love the tannish color!

thanks man

-undecided on the slogan haha

-will be changing the about section

-understandable about the resume, just curious because someone who might want to hire me would want to look and see what I have done either before/during school and professional video work.

The search button is located too far away from the search bar. Id prefer it to be on the left side, at least move it closer. Sick page though, nice color scheme.

I like the website a lot, I don't have too many suggestions. Except you should consider putting a picture of yourself or something on the left on the main page under your name. That's just me though, otherwise, I like the layout a lot.

updated her a bit recently, just thought id give this a bump. have already had two people contact me for work via the site and overall im happy with its simplicity.

I enjoy everything, easy to navigate, clean, simple, to the point.

The logo/icon could use some work other than that I dig it, nice work!

from the about page,

"...developed a niche for action sports..."

seems a bit awkward to me, shouldn't it be developed a niche in action sports?

also from the about page:

"This is a culmination of all my hard work."

What is "This"?

I would work on reworking your about blurb, It's a bit awkward. I know it's hard to get something you're happy with, I have the same issue, but i think you just need to keep revising until you get there.

triple post. I'll keep everything else in this post haha

In your photo section, either rename the photos ie. "IMG_xxx", or remove the titles.

I'd be more selective in your music photos and combine the two sections.

The video page is great, way better organization/display than the photos imo, but it would be hard to do something similar for the photos.

awesome thanks matt!

the reason why I like the photo section the way it is, is because the photos open up using lightbox and don't have a separate page for each photo (like the video section, each video opens to its own page)

yea the about me does suck haha, its in progress

Cool website, I like the layout and everything.

I look at personal websites alot for IT resumes and portfolios, one thing I would do is give people the option to download your resume in a PDF if you have the ability to do that on the site.

Just makes it easier for people to put you in their system

something turns me off about the home page. i think its the size of the varying text in different places. i feel like it would work better it the video and demo reel title should be centered. I would also take the word "My" out of the title.

this may be just me, but i would try to find a more "professional" photo of yourself. i know people shouldn't judge that you're wearing a sweatshirt and have your hat backwards but in reality they do.

everything else looks great.

i definitely still feel a little unsettled by the home page as well

got some more "professional" portrait shots done the other day too

website looks pretty damn rad, one thing id change is your logo (the red camera's)

everything looks damn tight but those three camera's look a little bit sloppy.

overall: niiiiccceeee

its looking sick. id take out the | photography after each of the headings in the photo section, its not needed unless there is something specific about the photography under that heading

fixed it up, thanks for the suggestion!

and yea the logo sucks, but without getting someone else to do it for me, at this point im okay with it
