my parents just sold my car with out even telling me. i just came home from school and some guy was looking at it and he bought it.

the worst part is it was sold for only 700 dollars and i have 700 dollars in my bank acount. so i could have bought the car from them. fuck.

annyway im super pissed about it and figured id vent about it on NS
 
Wait, why were they selling it? You in trouble? And was it THEIR car that they let you use, or did you actually buy this car before?

when i was little, i returned home from first grade one time to find that my entire stuffed animal collection had been given to a thrift store so i can really empathize for you here.....that sucks man.
 
it was their car that they gave to me when i got my liscence.

my dad was like we'll let you have it, it was my car, and i guess he just got bored and decided to sell it.
 
Well it was your parents car, not yours, maybe they need some skrilla to support you. Parents don't just have a money plan in their bathroom mang. Gotta thing about the hundreds of thousands of dollars your parents have spend on your in your entire life and realize that they work their ass off for it. Buy your own car if you don't want them to sell it, maybe they are tryin to tell you to get your own shit, i dunno.
 
I know a kid who bought a car with his own money that he worked for, who's mom one day took it to the dealer and sold it for half what it was worth to buy cigarettes and catfood.
 
Actually it's true. I think my dad showed me a study that someone did, and it says that with food, toys, other necessities, it costs parents about $250,000 until the kid turns 18.
 
it usually costs 200-300k to raise an average child in the us. average meaning average household income, living in an average area. and its only getting more expensive.
 
are you seriously trying to tell me the national average a kid spends on clothes is 1500 per year? I spend like 1/10 of that maybe
 
See, if when they'd offered it to you in the first place, you'd said "I'll actually pay you 20 dollars for it", it would have been your car and they would not have been allowed to sell it. Or rather, if they did, you wouldn't be able to get it back, but they would've had to pay you the value at least.
 
My mom gave my Barbie house and car away.....to a BOY. Fuck that I was so pissed. My mom offered to pay them to get it back but the fruitcake wouldn't give me my shit back.
 
Ya but if your parents sold the car you use for a measly $700 without asking you if you wanted it wouldn't you be upset? Yes it's their car technically, but they could have at least told him he could buy it if he wanted.
 
Ya, maybe if you are spoiled little shit. There's no way my parents spent that much on me, and I'm not dissapointed or anything, I just doubt they have.

If you include college, then ya, maybe.
 
Yeah, think about 18 years of life. So many different cloths, so much food, toys, etc, etc. Your parent spend 90% of the money they make at work on you. Just suck it up, they're prob buying you a new one anyway when you graduate.

i spend probably like 200-300 on clothes per year.

 
no offense dude but it was there car they sold. i had the same situation the lease ended and my parents were like oh sucks for you no car so i didnt have one for like 8 months but got a new one so maybe ull get one maybe you wont i would recomend getting a job and preparing to buy your own car might make ur parents think twice about it
 
dude. i'm an expensive fucking kid. skiing isnt cheap first off, with skis and pass and gear and shit. but then racing dirtbike? like each bike is 8 G's, plus gas, tires, parts, entry fees, gas to get there, the motorhome, trailer.....fuck me thats intense. so glad my rents are behind me
 
thats what stupid jeans cost.

i usualy pay like $10 for jeans at sample sales and shit. not even bad ones there all like split or quicksilver and stuff

but with ski gear i cost about $500 a year for clothes but i pay for alot of that myself
 
700$??? what was a 92 ford taurus??? haha jk i drive one as of now but something else is in the works...... just buy a peice of shit car for like 250 and not complain but hint that it is unsafe and that if they really loved you they would help you get a "safer" one........ may work
