Like what everybody else said, just show them you can balance school and partying, and you can be mature and responsible about it. My mom knows I smoke and the only thing she ever says to me is don't get caught and don't drive drunk. And that was a fucked up move by your step dad

word dude. 95% chance your parents did all of the same shit as you are right now. they just know that if you get out of hand, it can fuck you over. but if you handle it all responsibly and are mature about it, you'll be fine. talk to them about it.
