My newly cut custom poles(before and after)

Well here they are. The only thing i dont like about it is the grips and straps, i like pruple but i dont think it looks good with the stripes, but i dont care my glove will be covering the grips anyway.

That looks like a play it again sports price tag on there...they have those in canada too eh?
 
It looks to me like he removed the grip on the yellow and purple poles, and then just below the bend he cut them. He then painted the poles white up until the baskets. After letting it dry, electrical tape was put on them to make it look similar to a joystick, and then the grips were reattached.
 
I cut below the bend because they were wwwaayyy to long.

For my method of cutting the poles i basically followed that tutorial.

this is what i did:

1- take of straps

2- boiled water, put in pot and put poles upside down(grips in the water) into the pot and let soak for like 10 seconds.

^^ i used boiling water because the grips were really hard plastic.Usually just hot water from tap will work.

3- I took them out of the pot and jammed the grip in a door(one at a time) and pulled like a mofo.

4-went into base ment, measured where i wanted to cut got a pipe cutting saw and sawed away.

5-re boiled water, stuck grips back in water, put back on poles(with hammer), stuck into cold water.

since the poles were a bit to short i got wine corks and cut them down a bit and stuck in to the opening for the grip to add a cm or two.

6- Taped in white duct tape, then made stripes with black electrical tape.

7- New poles :D

 
those are sick although i really dont see the point of making nice custom poles, im using jacked rental poles right now since my poles would otherwise just get really bent and fucked up were i to bother getting a nice pair
 
ya 5 bucks is fine but i just dont understand why its worth making them nice if there likely to get bent and shit, if they feel good and hard though then hopefully theyll last since you took the time to make them look so sick
 
holy shit you must have VERY good vision, i couldnt tell that shit even after you said it. im impressed.
