Yeah i just finished these skis and i have a shitload of packing and work to do before my flight leaves for Utah tomarrow, so this is going to be breif. The skis are 183 cm long and 140-110-130, they have a maple/ poplar core, 3 layers off 22 oz triaxial fixerglass, and the tail is reinforced with carbon fiber tape. Here they are:

P.S. Ill be at PC friday, Snowbird saturday, PC sunday, and Brighton monday.

this kid in my school also made a ski. he made a ski press and eveything. the topsheet looked amazing but it was pretty beat up after we went to colorado

me too it would be sweet to make all kinds of skis just to bitch around on and if that didnt work out u wouldnt be totally fucked because it sprolly cheaper to make skis than to buy them

you know it.

oh, and each pair costs about 125-150 after an initial expense of upwards of $500 for tools and the press and stuff.

i think im gonna stick to buying my skis. but its gotta be dope when someone comes up and asks you what kind of skis they are.

those are sick, about how much actual time of labor does it take to get a pair together? can you pretty much make a ski flexing as much as you'd like? how'd you learn to do this?

i use a firehose for the bladder, it takes about 10 hours to make a pair, and you can control the flex easily by switching up composites but stiffer-> heavier

Its like a lot of shit you make, getting all the stuff to make em is hella expensive to start out, but once you start making them the material cost isnt that bad.

Have you considered making them to sell on NS? I would serioulsy consider working with you for a pair for next year. Like, if I could pick the specs and the graphics, what would you charge? $300 gives you about $150 profit and undercuts any ski on the market, but I'm sure NSers, me included, would pay more.

seriously, I've been looking forever for someone who would make me a custom ski and there is really no one who will do it for a reasonable price. Everyone always says Prior will do it, but they want upwards of $700 for a dinky park ski.

props man thats pretty sick that you are making your own skis. i would love to have some soft fats like those. man thats sick.

two words:

REVERSE CAMBER.

make THAT EXACT SKI. but reverse camber.

sell them on newschoolers for like $400.

plus shipping.

you will be ahead of the curve. no one could compete, either.

and SO MANY FUCKING KIDS would buy them.

i would.

oh, but PLEASE let us choose color combos. the stripes arwe sick, but i kinda want like purple and yellow or something ridiculous, ya know?
