Hey guys, I just recorded a new dubstep mixtape. Thought you all might like to give it a listen. Throw it on on the hill or at a party, I think you might just like it!

Might be a bit different side of dubstep, and a little different approach to it than most people take, but give it a chance! There is also a free download on soundcloud so you can take it with you!

Any feedback is more than welcome, however, you aren't going to change my opinion of dubstep by explaining to me how it sounds like robots fucking and whatnot.

Let me make it clear that none of these are my songs, its a mixtape, not original work. So the DJ work is mine, but the tracks are by various artists.

I've been DJing at a few clubs here and there and producing a little bit as well. Hopefully with a bit more work I will be able to DJ my own tracks. I am a full time engineering student, so I don't get as much time as I would like for it, so it remains a hobby.

Also, anyone who lives in Boulder, I play house parties :)

Yea, I like the style. It's pretty different from the dubstep you hear everywhere now. I's nice to see people actually developing a distinct style, rather than trying to just copy whoevers currently popular.

Keep working on it. I recently went to an ill gates workshop which taught me a lot. If you message him you can buy his guide to producing for like $20. Tons of good tips. Helps you understand music, structure... everything.
 
I almost went to one of those workshops, had a ticket and everything, but, homework, blech...

I'll check out the guide, seems like it could be helpful. I do have a mentor of sorts. He has a different style, but is really good at Ableton, Massive, etc... and we DJ together on the reg. Were eventually planning to start making a live P.A. set together and I think it could go really really well with our different styles. As long as I'm plugging him, check out his soundcloud!

lol yeah, I should have made that clear in the OP. People "in the know" would recognize very quickly that none of these are my tracks, but I'm used to a different audience... I don't have any mixes, but I have some original productions (soundcloud and fb in my sig) if you wanna check em out. I'm uploading a new song in a little bit too :pLike yours they are in the constuction age right now, I'm just trying to develope my own style.
