damn thats crazy.. at least you know remarks isn't going to erupt on you! the skifields will be pissed if they have to close with the school holidays just starting.
 
Bahahahahha, it took me a minute to realize that it was fucking Pat's Peak... I mean uh... Mount st. Pats...
 
Well thats a season dampener. You kinda can forget about it, but lots of ski areas are built on dormant volcanoes or geologically active areas.... Baker, Bachelor, Shasta, Mammoth....

just a couple of injuries, the lahars didnt actually make it onto the ski field

a lahar is just crater water, mud and rocks and stuff going down the mountain fucking fast, when we were kids growing up down there we had to learn all the safe places to go in the event of an eruption, so its not really that dodgy i dont think
 
That sucks so much! Pyroclastic flows are so dangerous and kill the most people. Here in Washington when St. Helens erupted it sent mobbin pyroclastic flows.
 
HOLY FUCK!

i went to school with the guy that got hurt, he was in my class for like 4 years! his leg got amputated! crazyness!

mountain reopen tomorrow though :)
 
Nobody died, some dude got his leg amputated. They evacuated the side with lodges for the night, but the side with the park wasn't affected YUSS! They're hoping to have the whole mountain open tomorrow.
 
^ doesn't seem like it, but it my parents don't want me to go down this weekend in case it happens again.. But i'm going seasons almost over!
 
Wow, that's fucking crazy. Can you imagine having to close down for a few days because your mountain erupted? Jesus...
 
Yeah - it smokes from the old crater pretty much constantly. You have to be up there (in or near the crater) to see it, though - it is not like a large plume or anything coming off the mountain.
 
indeed.

there are a couple fumaroles up there (and they smell like shit), constantly releasing gases and occasional steam. Its pretty chill
 
just was up there for a few days the whole top was like black. Crazy stuff haha. But it was closed today because visibility was bad so they wouldn't know if it was erupting and everyone would DIE DIE DIE!
