Taken from Snow Summit's website........their rules regarding mtn biking. Is this common?

Only cross-country style bikes are permitted on the Scenic Sky Chair. No downhill specific bikes will be transported. Any one of the following four factors will disqualify a bike from being transported on the chair.

1. Bikes must be less than 35 pounds.

2. Designated tire size must be less than 2.5.

3. Front shock must have less than 6 inches of travel.

4. Bikes must have three chain rings unless they are single speed.

no, actually, thats rediculous. even blue mountain doesnt have it that bad. .... at least i dont think.
 
thats too bad man, sounds like they only want the typical hard tail that every dad has on their course

thats retarded. not all xc bikes have three chainrings. i built mine custom and it has two. but its also a freeride bike with 7" of front travel and 7.5 rear

I think it has to do with having made erosion problems and damage to trails since its so dry

so they thought it would be smart to do downhill trails on XC bikes
