My latest film. Take a look!

The intro really didn't keep me interested, and being the first thing a viewer sees it really sets the mood.

The name segmentation was a second or two too long per person if that makes sense.

Movies also tend to tell stories, and this really didn't seem to have much of a story line. Basic stuff, I mean the interview to open the first segment was one of the most generic things I have ever seen. It feels like an edit, and I stopped watching about 4-5 minutes in because it simply couldn't hold my attention. Movies take finesse and MAJOR foreplanning to create and to have them flow out as well as you would hope. In a constructive way, I would say stick to making edits and when you can portray a point (story) across 3-4 minutes with ease, then you can MAYBE take a step towards thinking about a movie. What makes an edit memorable, in my opinion, is having stick out in some way from all the others. No offense, but the riders aren't doing that for this, so it has to be you, the filmer, making it stick out and by following a cookie cutter mold for a "movie" you most definitely are not doing that.

Your shots were nice, but issues with how long some of them dragged out and the placement really didn't allow them to be seen at full potential.

Well... You use excessive and I mean excessive amounts of SLOW MO. It was way too much practically every other shot had some slow motion. Most of the shots in your "film" were very over exposed, this kind of bother me throughout. The music choice was pretty bland. There were tons of songs that practically everybody knows and has heard. Try to be more original on your music selection. But anyway it was still good and you probably put tons of work into so good job!

Thanks for the advice! This is my first year using a DSLR, I totally understand what you're saying about the story piece, that's something I want to spend more time on next year. This year I made it for the kids in the film, I didn't think about the general public too much which is something I want to focus more on next year.

The music had to be "age appropraite" cause I premiered it at my school and stuff. Thats the reason for the music choice haha

^Music seemed fine to me except for a few of the songs. All kinda overused but it gave the film a pretty good vibe.

I'm really impressed at how many shots you got too.

Thanks! It took a while and I thought it turned out pretty well for my first season being behind a dslr. Next year I want to work on color correcting and the story part more. Didn't try either of those this year.

Decent filming and skiing got better as it went on, songs choice could have been improved. Little long and too much slow-mo. I'm a big fan of short and sweet, making the audience wish it went on longer. Keep the good shots and bangers, cut the rest.

So do you mean like to cut it down to 10-15? Cause i wanted to just use the best riders and make a "short and sweet" re-edit.

Haha well i wasn't saying i didn't like your music selection because it wasn't explicit enough haha lol....I was saying that you just might want some more creativity and originality!

10 tops, I know you're pumped on making a movie, and thats awesome, don't get me wrong, but i feel like even 5 minute edits can struggle to hold someones attention, especially when its in the same park with many similar tricks.
