Whats wrong with your laptop? possibly upgrade some components and salvage the old beast? I say this because I have seen laptops in the electronic recycling that simply need a new $50 dollar battery and would be fine.
 
Well nothings super wrong with it, I'll probably end up using it till she dies, its just old (Powerbook G4, my Dad got it around 03/04 and handed it down to me for university like just under 2years ago). It just laggs everywhere, video editing can be a pain in the ass at times, and the battery doesn't charge (no idea if I can get a new one and not totally sure if the comp is worth upgrading) in all honesty thats about it, and who doesn't like winning a brand new laptop haha
