My knee fixed.... Miracle ?

Well I screwed my knee up at christmas it practically crippled me for 2 days, then I did some super-light skiing on it, it was pretty painful, but not too bad, it was getting steadily for the last month, i.e. it was hurting when I walked and stuff, until 4 days ago, now its pretty much perfect.... What happened ? is my knee fixed for good and has this happened to anyone else, I'm pretty stoked I've been jumping around just fo the hell of it, and it doesn't hurt...

if you tore something in your knee ( this is more towards a MCL tear) and its close to blood flow there is a chance it will heal itself overtime. That happened to me 2 years ago, I still get pains in it sometimes but my knee has been functional. I'm back skiing and last year I had one of my best jumping seasons ever. I dont know if its healed or not, but at the same time I dont know if I really want to know that.

only if didnt tear all the way, I hear that a parcial tear hurts a lot more than a complete tear tho, That might be what you and the thread creator had

Hopefully for your sake its all good.

My mate completely tore his ACL skiied on it for years without knowing, in circumstances like yours. It hurt for a couple of days, then he though it was all good with no pain. Didn't realise until he tore his other one this year that he'd lost his ACL years ago. We'll see this season if people can ski without both ACL's. Moral is that it is possible to ski without an ACL without even knowing you don't have one anymore.

Or it sounds like you could have torn something and have something floating in the miniscus of your knee.

sounds like what happened to me-- I caught an edge in the park and messed up my knee-- couldn't walk for a few days and gradually healed up-- the doctor told me it was a 'stretched MCL' -- it got stretched out but didn't tear. now it's completely better.

awesome, thanks guys and yea, I know what you mean about not wanting to know, I didn't bother going to the doctors in case he said no more skiing...

yea, word, I'm just building up the strength, rowing machine and cycling etc....

it's really nice to go out and play football with my friends and not have to keep thinking about how much my knee is hurting!

in the UK it's all free, but the waiting list for an MRI is like 12 years or something like that... I'd have gladly payed £100 for an mri, sounds like a deal !

haha, yea I'm just kidding, although it is a hella long time, and Doctors exhaust every other option before adding you to the waiting list
