My ipod mini and the cold

First of all i used the search bar and found nothing. My ipod mini is supposed to last ten hours fully charged and when i go to the slopes it never lasts that long. I turn the backlight off and just let it play. Does the cold effect the battery life on ipods?? and should i insulate it with something besides my kick ass ducktape case. a sock maybe

yeh man thast def what it is..unless u have had it for a while and the battery is ging to shit..

Run a test. Give it a full charge and then put it on loop and turn of the backlight and see how long it plays in normal weather. If it doesnt make it to ten hours, take that shit back in to the apple store and get a new one. They will replace it now problem, they might ask to test it first themselves but its worth a try for sure.

my 4th generation lasts about 7 hours in the cold...regular battery life is 12-12 hours.

If you think its the cold and you have interior pockets, put it in there. This might not be your problem but extra options dont hurt =P

get boxers with a pouch by your nuts and put it in the pouch. You balls stay the warmest out of any part of your body.

one day my ipod got so cold i could JUST barely see the options on the screen, but ive never had any problems other than that one that one occasion.

yea i noticed mine would do that too, so i crocheted it a case and it keeps it a bit warmer and expands the battery life of it. its sick. plus if its in the case, you can throw it at a wall and nothing will happen, its invincible.

i have this little wool thing bout the right size so hopefully itl keep my ipod nice n cozy and help the baterry life

same... i get huge battery life even in the cold... mby the flash drive? i have no idea but i skied from 10am-8pm and still had an assload of battery left... and it was cold out
