My Fucking Knee

So last year was my second ACL blow out and I didn't have the money to get another surgery. I can't sacrifice the season and I've been working it really hard at the gym. It's really stable now especially with my brace. Does anybody have any good knee-type exercises for those of us who are ACL impaired??? I know I should just front the cash and get it done and I'm risking permanent damage, blah blah blah, but I just can't watch this season go by on the couch.

dude if your acl is fucked up and you never got surgery you will fuck it up worse and have no choice but to sit on your couch because you won't even be able to ski groomers anymore. think of your future!

would you rather miss one season and ski a bunch more, or very likely ski a few days, screw your knee up even more and have a lot more damage?

^^don't tell him that shit, don't get thoughts like that rolling through peoples heads.

he can do whatever the fuck he wants if he puts his mind too it.

I hope your season works out.

I really do appreciate your concern for my future, but since I have no insurance and I definately don't have $25K lying around for the surgery, my options are: put my skiing on hold for 12 years while I scrimp and save for a knee surgery or do without an ACL. My knee doctor told me that I'll do permanent damage if I let it go for 10 years but a year or two will not risk my mobility in the future since I've already had one surgery. Anyway, the new knee isn't an option, sooooo ... what else can I do???

I dont know man. I tore my ACL last Feb but got surgery on it in April. If you do plan on skiing wear a brace and dont do anythng hard. YOu can reall fuck yourslef up for the rest of your life.

Sorry bro.

idk, i killed my ACL 3 years ago, and i've yet to have reconstructive surgery on it. 2 full seasons of rocking the brace, and skiing hard, and i'm fine. i think?

but, if the doctors told you you're going to fuck yourself up, then actally listen to them. please.

Unless you have very solid technique do not do squats, or leg press with a lot of weight. It wil slowly destroy your knee without you knowing. You many be strengthening the muscles, but the tendons do not repair as fast and you can just be doing irreversible damage to your knee.

ya dude 2 years ago I blew my ACL , MCL and miniscus. That was 2 years ago I worked out hard on it only to realize it did nothing for me. Mid season it was only agravated more and unski able. I have just had my operation and 5 weeks ago because it was only a partial tear of my MCL and ACL i got away with a scope. it was amazing dude you gotta get this done you'll feel like you can get back to normal and not worry any more if you know waht I mean. Post me if you need more info

Thanks Gigger

dude im on rehab right now. you shouldnt do any excersizes for 8 weeks from teh injury date. then do 1/4 squats ( going from almost locked legs and dropping just a little. its nothing like a full sqat) if you do full sqats to early it will fuck you up. your feet should be shoulder width and your knees above youre toes. didnt you do this with your last knee? start at 0 pounds and every 5 days go up 5 pounds. 3 sets of 20. you can alos do it on one leg at a time

lift hamstrings and quads. that's all you need.

But on a serious note, I dabble in common outpatient surgeries. And... if you're willing, I'll replace your ACL for you. We just need to find a cadaver/donor. I don't have a lot of experience (well, none actually) but I have a great bedside manor.

Just sack up and ski on it, two weeks after i totally tore mine last year i skied again...in Colorado. As long as i didnt jump, i was fine (almost constant pressure on the knee). But hell, if it feels solid, go hit some 80 footers!

skiing sucks

^hahhaha. oh ya, u wont fuk urself or ne thing. who cares if u can walk if hit an 80 footer like seth

dood, last year.. skied on blown acl.. worked it out almost every single day in the gym a nd outside of the gym and doing everything.. went.. got into the season.. tore meniscus.. and, was out for another month.. and, was basically hurt the rest of the season.. it was not a pretty thing.. but, its possible to get through the season without extra injury.. for me, it just didnt happen that way. in this situation.. if i were you.. id go for it.. being the.. work hard and get into the season.. if you end up hurting it.. there's nothing you could do about that.. but, yeah.

one love.
