Ok so when i turn on my computer, i turn on my monitor, and the monitor just says 'no signal' like its not plugged into the computer but i have checked 700 times it is and it is tight, the cord is ok, they both have power i cleaned the lil ports with one of those waterless electronic cleaner cans u know pretty much just compressed air, but idek what the fuck is wrong. Got any ideas?

That was one giant run on sentence. hahah oh well

1)cable not connected or cable defective

2)vid card not seated correctly

3)motherboard fucked

Don't hold me to it, but that's pretty standard troubleshooting. The error usually means it is something power-related(i.e. The monitor is not getting a power signal)

I have tried multiple montirs that i know work, and they don't work on my computer. So i know its th comp and why do u think my mother board is fucked, how would that even relate. Like im not being rude, i just don't get it

Well, if you aren't that computer savvy I'll give you a small write-up on what you can check.

Open the computer case so you can see the motherboard clearly. Note where the cord for the monitor goes into. If it runs into a plug which is directly soldered into the motherboard than it sounds like your onboard video isn't working properly, check to make sure that the stick(s) of RAM are seated propely and if there is more than one you can pull one out at a time and try booting the computer with a stick of ram in as it could be faulty memory (onboard video utilizes part of the system RAM), if its not that then your onboard video is fryed, you can pick up a cheap video card and use that, or just replace the motherboard.

If it runs into a card which is plugged into the board than its very possible that that car has become seated impropely, try pulling it out and putting it back in again, if that doesn't work, try the RAM thing I listed above, if its not that, then your video card is fried and you need to purchase a new one. But in my own way, I am king.

Hail to the king, baby!

its your video card, maybe if its pci try a different slot, but if its onboards, its gonna be expensive, in my book at least

^^ exactly. if it's onboard, and not working, you're basically fucked. but if it's a card and not working, it could just be the card.

had that problem when my comuter was new. first thing that i did, and you should do, is if you have a seperate video card, take it out, and take a peice of papaer and fold it around the part of the vid card that plugs into the computer. rub the paper back in fourth. you should notive black steaks on thye paper. then put the vid card back in and see if it works. if it doesnt, what i have to do was to screw my vid card in and push it down a bit at the same time (so that the screw isnt fully in the hole on the vid card) that worked for me and my shitty Gforce FX 5700...

^^ actualy geforces have gotten better with the newer drivers.

I can run Doom 3 flawlessly on high detail 800x600 with my FX 5600 all of a sudden with the latest drivers. (of course I have an Athlon XP 3000+ and 1 gig of RAM, if that helps any)
