Well I am a senior in high school and have a friend who has always been pretty nerdy. He knows more about computers than most of the IT guys at school and since middle school he has been helping the school out with technology problems. Plus he has always been pretty straight edge and I honestly don't know if he has ever done anything to even be punished in any way since he has been in his teens.

So earlier this semester he hacked our school's administrator account giving him access to any school records, grades, transcripts, private files for all the teachers and the principal, all the students personal info, etc.

He then used this to get on our Honors English teachers files who by the way was voted US Weekly's National Teacher of the Year a few years back. Well he got all the tests and quizzes for the rest of the semester and around a week before the date of each assignment would send out an email with the file to 16 students in the class. All was well and everyone was always smart about the files so no one got suspicious but somehow the principal found out and now he has for sure failed the class. He could be expelled and may very well end up throwing a lot of hard work in our schools hardest classes offered out the window when he can't get into a decent college. This is not to mention the fact that he has committed a felony and recently turned 18...

His clean record and the fact that he has done lots of community service, has great grades, and is an Eagle Scout will hopefully keep him out of legal trouble but regardless he is still in deep shit that could very well affect his entire future. Also, our teacher is left wondering how the hell he will even assign grades since we are half way through the semester and over half the class is undeserving of their grades.

Sparknotes: Straight-edge, computer genius friend who is a senior in high school hacked school files (Felony). Then proceeded to share tests and quizzes off private teacher files to most of the class. Principal finds out and now he has failed the class and the higher powers of the school are left wondering how to handle such a complex situation where no outcome is good for my friend.

 
Yeah he definitely shouldn't have shared but when it began he only sent it to me, another guy, and this girl he likes but the girl started spreading word and soon everyone wanted it... bitches
 
if he is half as smart as you say he is, he doesn't need college. Although, I'm guessing he isn't if he got caught.
 
He is a virgin and the girl is pretty and leads him on hardcore so that was a big factor in how he got caught but he hacked his own bank account info to see if he could do it a couple years back. used some weird operating system that's just for hacking. He has some reasoning dilemmas sometimes but when it comes to his computers he really knows a lot, more than your average computer nerd to say the least
 
tell him to make a program that tricks bitcoin in to thinking you are stacked and then buy a bunch of shit. fuck school when you have the internetz
 
Well the thing is if your really that crazy smart with computers you dont necassarily need a degree to grt a job. Software engineers are in huge demand and if he can do the work, a little piece of paper wont keep him from getting a job.

He should just offer to work for free for some major companies (worthwhile ones) and get some bs certificates online.

He'll be fine, although I guess he cost himself 4 fun years on whatever college campus he wanted to be at.
 
Am I really the only one who thinks this kid is full of shit? Sure, maybe his friend is a whiz when it comes to computers, and maybe he even did really get caught cheating, but "hacking his bank account just to see if he could?" Yeah, ok bud.
 
Kidnap the girl who snitched, say you'll hurt her family if she doesn't regned her statement and take full blame for everything.....
 
forgot his password, had it written in a file on his computer, used search function to find file, could get into his online banking. hacked!!

i know when i was in university, the students with the top marks were usually the best cheaters.

he will be fine.

and like many people said, if he is that good, he wont need a degree.

and i highly doubt it will even come to that.

He was an idiot and deserves to pay the price!! If you don't commit a felony your whole life and then commit a murder in cold blood would you be let off?

it was an example of how backs can often be turned to "crimes" when it benefits the person or organization in control.
 
there is some dusty unicycle riding kid who also likes to fuck around with our school's computers. he ended up with a 1% in some grade 11 computers class because every day (when he showed up) he would just hack the teacher's computer, take down the school's networks, get into everybody's files and that kind of shit. they ended up getting new security for our school's network because of him but he can still get around it no problem. now he just plays league of legends all day in class.

I deserve mine, never cheated ever. 4.0 GPA.

I just work harder than all of the schmucks in my classes. Not drinking helps a bit....

but for real, people are lazy and don't even come close to using their full potential. this is off-topic. I'll PM you a stupid picture soon, ok see ya
 
UPDATE. Today 2 private ivestigators were at the school interviewing people. The IT guys are trying to see everyone who edited or accessed the pages so disciplinary action can be taken towards those who used the files to cheat. Also my friend will be charged but the PIs are trying to get everything straight so they can determine whether the charges will be misdemeanor or felong charges... There is a good chance that most of the people in the top 10 percent of my class with drop to the bottom when they get fs for cheating and will have to retake english next semester online...
 
Definitely this. and @eheath I wouldn't necessarily say this is a bad thing for him, in the case that he decides to do something to do with software, but for uni yeah he's fucked.
 
Abagnale served 6 months in a French prison while awaiting deportation back to the states.....

once he arrived in the states he was offered a postition with the FBI.

6 months prison < $10million in fraud.

He should hack into the police department and get his case dismissed. Then hack into the school again, give himself an all A's transcript and peace the fuck out to some college

my point of bringing up catch me if you can is that sometimes people do illegal things and it ends up working out for them in the end.

not that the OP's "hacker" friend was going to get a job with the FBI.

i watched your video, seemed pretty off topic of what you and i were discussing.
 
I'm not arguing with you anymore I'm saying your wrong i read the book he did a lot more time and probation you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.
