Hey Guys, just got myself a gopro for christmas and have made this edit of my holiday in Japan. The quality is no where near as good as it is originally. Ive been using Final Cut Express for the first time so just getting the hang of it so dont know why the qualty has gone down.
What you do guys think, im getting much more involved with this kind of thing so any imput would be great. Thanks.

i liked itto improve it i would try to transition between clips better, the transitions seemed not to flow very well, some good stuff but could be more smoothi would maybe cut it down a little, i'm sure we would all love to shred trees in japan, but maybe cut a little out and just leave the sick shots, or try to integrate the park shots in a little to break up the the POV treesjust my 2 cents, but i liked it

Thanks man. Do you mean adding effects into the transitions so it doesnt quickly jump from one place to the other? Or maybe the flow of the skiing moving from one scene to the other? I know its a little long yea, i just had soo much footy over the week it was hard to cut it all down. Thanks for he imput it was very helpful.
Any other comments people have? Anything at all would be great

You were staying in the apartments next to my house! Nice edit man, would have been nice to have a bit more variety in the tree skiing though. When were you here? Didn't look super deep.

Thanks guys. I was there on the 2nd-9th of January and missed the snow massively, it dumped the week before we got there, not a lot to none our week and then dumped when we left. I was gutted to say the least. But for sure im going back in the near future? You could tell my flat from that vid, nice work. I saw a sick little green house next to the flats, was that yours? Man i wish i was back, I love that place.

that was a very good edit considering it was your first one. Maybe cut down the length, and only get the REALLY impressive shots. Not that all of those didn't make me want to be out there, its just that after 6 minutes it got kind of repetitive. But it was very sick, that must have been a fun trip!

Yeah my house is the little green one! Bummer you didn't get much snow, was that the week it was really windy as well? I remember it was sometime around new years. Looks like you still had fun though!

that was sweet...and i usualy dont really like watching powder edits
also the evil woman remix was a good choice for songs

Thanks for all the positive comments. Always nice to hear good things. For next time, it seems il make a shorter edit with all the banger shots (not that my shots are banger), so its doesn't get repetitive and long. Awesome.
And yea it was the week it was really windy as well. Haha, not the best week we had at all. But even when it was bad it was still fun. Honanzo (i think thats what is called) had a alright park with blueberry and strawberry fields so kept the day rolling fine. Weird to think i saw people come in and out of that little house everyday and it could have been you. Are you working out there? How easy is it to get a job, cause its an option in the future for me.

Yeah Hanazono can be really good when it's windy because it has some fun stuff low down.

I work out here in ski school (the one by family lift) and it's easy to get a job if you're qualified. Otherwise bar/restaurant jobs are pretty easy to find, the tough bit is often finding somewhere to live though. Have you done seasons before?

nice i liked it. the "dolly shots" were kinda shaky in the intro and i think the intro would flow better if you showed getting driving to the mountain instead of fading to black then being there

^Thanks for the input. The ''dolly shots'' where shaky yea which sucks. A lot of footage i shot it was just like 'hey, this could be cool, lets do it now' when there were any free moments, didn't really plan anything out. But i would really like to be able to get some nice smooth shots and better video for next time, make much better viewing. I didn't do the traveling up to the mountains shot cause i thought its too unoriginal as everyone does it, but maybe thats why they do cause it works well.
Yes i have done a season before in whistler, it was awesome spending everyday in the mountains. Got a level 2 CSAI qualification there as well. Thats good to hear its fairly easy getting jobs. Many people have said speaking japanese is very important in getting jobs over there. Now to plan when i can go.

From an uneducated point of view, I'd say add some color in between different parts. ex...a time lapse of snow piling up in between the tree and park segments or something like that. You get the idea.

Haha, speaking Japanese is definitely not needed in Niseko, did you see how many Aussies were here!? If you have CSIA2 you'll be able to get a ski school job easy.

haha yea your right, the place was swarmed with aussies it was a little ridicules. And thanks Snow Job for you input, i think thats a good idea.
