ok well this is my first attemp at it and i wanna start bombing. so any pointers and feedback is wanted

This is already the second thread in a short time with graffiti spelled griffiti on the title. Sorry for spell checking.
 
i would try to connect everything more, its way to spaced. it will look a lot more flowly if its all attached
 
ahhh drew, i love how you associate grafitti with a "ghetto, thug appearance" and that it cant be done by anyone else.

of course it is toy as fuck, what should he expect. its his first piece. im not loop_digga, (who you are proll expecting to bash him) but dude, writing isnt limited to the streets of brooklyn man.

and for the thread creator. start out doing simples and using bars. if you dont know what that is, go check out bombingscience.com and go into the toys forum and click the thread, "getting started". its basically separating every letter into a combination of bars, and bending/changign the shapes of the bars and combining them together to change the look of the letter and give it an original style. stick to those right now, and lose the cards, character attempst that you put in until you start getting decent.

and please dont criticize me everybody, because i know im toy as well, but ive been doing this like a year and know just a liiiiiittle bit about what im talking about.
 
ok well i been reading and its saying to find a name that really wont connect you to you work so b~rob wont work cuz you kno my name is brennan robinson. so i like using the b so i kept that. how bout BOCA any thoughts to that

ok well i found an old can of paint at my house and i decided to try my abilities out.. it looks good to me for my first but i dunno what you guys will think. didnt get totally finished cuz i ran outta paint
 
you did absolutely NOTHING that i recommended for you. for one, you should NEVER paint, until you have something that doesnt suck because when you are putting up something as amatuer as what you did, it make graffiti artists look bad because graffiti is ART and your attempt at doing it is just vandalism so far.

please do what i told you first, block letters and bars, check out bombingscience.com, and stop biting your letters off of graffiticreator.com or learngraffiti.net. its toy and sad that you dont come up with your own style by yourself.

and for the love of god come up with something better than B-ROB because that will get traced back to you faster than you can even think.

and drew, i didnt mean anything against you at the top, other than that you kind of stereotyped writers a little bit. i agree with the urban-ness of it but to talk down any one of us "suburban white kids" or whatever it was, i thought was a little out of line because graff isnt limited to a type of people but whatever. if you are getting into it, check out the official graff cult here on NS, and BS too, they help a lot
 
k will do. i have been loking at pics all day and like im trying to come up with my own style but im not really understanding the block letters thing.like i do but i cant really do it
 
this is actually pretty good imo for a first time. ive never actually done anything other than handstyles every now and then...it was kind of a phase but yea keep it up
 
thats too hard for you? thats like the simplest way possible to start doing graff. would you like me to personally draw out a tutorial on bars and simples? i have nothing to do anyway... but when you say you "arent that artistic" graff prolly wont be your thing haha.

so i tried the blocked thing. any better? i kno i messed up on th b but oh well im just getting started. and am i progressing any from the first one i ever did up top
 
first question is how long have you been sketching, because the real key is sketching the more you do it the better you will get. My advice is not to start bombing right away because you won''t have any good letters to put up. Just sketch for now and you will improve so much.

dude those arent blocks at all. im talking like straight up making the letters into rectangles that make the shape of the letter.

here this is a shitty sketch of what i did yesterday and how the blocks are used. make sure to keep all the bars the same width as well.

if you can see this, i started with COMPLETELY BASIC LETTERS and made them into bars. like the letters you see on your keyboard.

then i just took each of the bars, warped them, and put them back together where they sit in the letter. it sounds easy but its pretty hard.
 
Hey man that first drawing is good just try and fill space, like how the i is out in its own lil world move it up higher so the spray is above the letters and make it tighter. and your from mansfeild right? i write here to, i got a lil crew together called OTM im craze n cop, get up!
 
first of all, you got a long way to go kid. a LONG way. a REALLY long way...

and second, Drew, shut the fuck up. no one gives a shit what you think.

and fyi, im not from the ghetto or the burbs. im not even gonna front like im from Bushwick or something. im from westside Manhattan and now live in NoPo.
 
aight hey mr Alias, but if you take 5 seconds out of your life to read for a change, within the first 10 posts you wouldve read that drew doesnt write, or hardly EVER calls people out, but when loop_digga bashes every single person that ever posts anything graff related, all drew said was post up or shut up because he and im sure other people are sick of hearing loops criticism when he doesnt show anything to back it up.
 
dont be a dick dude. to the creator, if you really want to get into graffiti, like really want to, then practice practice practice. fuck what this kid says, get a throwy and run wit it. you cant get experience sketchin in your blackbook all day. so if you really want ot be a writer, better start payin your dues, cause you got a long ass way to go.
 
you say " you gotta practice practice practice", but then again you say "you cant get experience sketchin in your sketchbook all day" so im not sure what you are talking about. do you think it would be better if he went and sprayed the shit he got right now all over the town? thats ridiculous and would suck to look at everywhere. once he works something decent out in his black book, he should go but not until he's got something wayyyyy better than what he has now.

this thread has fucked up my karma big time haha.
