Im not completely done yet, I will be touching up the highlights a bit since some of them blow out. We had a hard time figuring out a good shutter speed indoors so thats why theres a nasty lighting at the reception.

Other than that, Im happy about the result, the clients loved it also.

Tell me what you think!

I must say in all honesty i could not watch it for even a minute. The editing was great but i could not handle that blur or bloom in the highlights. Were you using real old glass thats prone to flare? I kept rubbing my eyes thinking that they were the problem, but they wernt. I think without that glow it would have been a lot easier to watch. I could not stand it.

That being said audio was good and had a good vibe. Also most the shots where very over exsposed with nasty yellow highlights.

I sure hope you don't take this as just bashing. It just realy stood out to me. And i have no idea what your lighting was like. It may have been way hard to deal with. Overall Great!

Its actually a dreamy diffusion filter I added to make it a bit more dreamlike. I Think your right though, it might be a bit over the top. Im exporting a version right now with the highlights corrected, I will tone down the blur aswell.

Yah I tried thinking like the client instead of going with what I thought was good. I knew it was over the top, I see so many videos like this though that I figured I would try.

The new version is exporting right now. Should be up tonight.

ya it looks like it was filmed with a 1930's camera lens with haze and 0 multi coating

Nice dolly push on the brides tits!

haha good work though I shot a wedding this summer and am having trouble finding inspiration to edit it, so much footage to go through.

Yah like I said above, I tried distancing myself from the film maker mentality and see things as a client.

The video is exported, i just have to get back from work to re upload it. I corrected the highlights, removed the blurr from everything except maybee 2 shots. I also re adjusted the audio levels and made the end smoother.

In my defence, the blurr didnt look as harsh before exporting... very strange, but i realose that it was not the right decision anyways.

Nice work Mat!

Couple things...

the editing needs some work. I just don't feel much emotion when watching it...there's no build-up or even real feeling of celebration at the end. I think part of this is the song choice. The song kinda works for the beginning, but then is way too slow for the reception. I'd fade the song out at the actual ceremony during an audio bit and then bring in something more fun. They just got married, it's time to party.

Also, the video doesn't feel very candid/natural. There are a number of shots that look scripted/planned (him grabbing his jacket in the beginning and when they look at the camera etc). That bothers me a bit, I think a wedding should be as candid as possible. That's just my 2cents tho.

Also, maybe too much slow-mo/ramping?

Weddings are hard. They always are. As I said before though, nice work. The content is there, the audio is there, it could just use a bit more emotion through the editing.

WOW! Awesome job, really enjoyed that. The only thing that kinda erked me is the color grading. It seemed a bit too blue/greeny for me. But it really wasn't too bad, just not the right look for me. Other than that awesome job.

Updated version definitely looks better. Overall I thought it was nice work.

Most of the slides looked great but one or two seemed a little quick to me. Specifically the one towards the bride getting in her dress.

That's really minor and just my opinion, though. I think you did a great job.
