Every big air comp that ive ever been in has been pretty hurt with the exception of one that was awesome. At the 2 small hills i ski at, there are usually several big air contests a year. Ive been in everyone before and usually get 3rd. However, in every comp ive ever been in, i was always competing against no more that 10 other skiers. Its always fun though because we all just push each other to throw bigger tricks, and its never mattered to us who wins because the best prize given is usually a snowboarding shirt or certicates for free tacos at Taco Bell.

Just go and have fun. It's really all that matters...

i agree with skierX. Fun is the most important thing, and i'm very curious how some1 can land a cork 90, or even attempt one...

-this comin from the guy that backseated a safety once.

Me- 'Thats an SAT'

Friend-'Oh shit'

Hey Teddy,

I will most likely enter the comps at Crystal, yes. I didn't last time because I was skiing with a sprained ankle and a bruised hip :(

I wanted to, but I figured it'd be better for me to sit it out, ya know?

My first comp on skis was also the 2nd day that i had been skiing and I did a 5 and tryed a 7. Dont think of it as a comp try to get you trick down bewfor it and then add more style in the comp, and if you know your not going to win go for the corked 900.

i got a comp this weekend too...if i dont think im gonna place top 3 then im throwin a switch misty 9 and praying that i dont land on my head.

Inverts aren't allowed, and it's big air, two runds, so I think I'll throw a switch 5 japan, and a zero spin safety, I dunno yet though....

don't worry sonya, just have fun with it, and if you want, i'll help you with your 3 before the comp, cause i will probably destroy myself in the comp.....

ive never entered a comp but if ur best trick is a 3 i suggest u dont either unless ur willin ta pay the entrance fee to hit a jump twice. not worth it

... I didn't last time because I was skiing with a sprained ankle and a bruised hip :( ...

Probably wasn't a sprained ankle if you could actually see. A sprain is where there are actual torn ligaments. Like this summer when I tore all them on the right side of my right foot and my ankle was swollen so much it was blue and If I tried to step down my foot would be on it's side. Not to mention not being able to movie it and it just flopping around. Luckily, I didn't have to get surgery like they said I might've needed.

Anyways, in the comp remember, if your mountain is small and doesn't know much about Newschool Skiing, they won't judge stylie tricks high.
