My first car...

holy shit, 195 thou? Find another car dude. Besides Volvos and Beamers, not many cars can last beyong 200,000. You can easily find something better and just as affordable.

if your buying that car for under a grand then i'd say MAYBE do it. Otherwise find yourself a different deal because 195 thou is a ton on that car.

Putting that many miles on a car since 2001 pretty impressive

Whatever you do, DON'T GET A HONDA! Just keep looking around for a good deal, patience will always pay off when you're looking for a deal on a car. Remember, if you buy it cheaper, it's generally more expensive to maintain.

get a fucking volkswagon hondas r gay as as hell and 195000 miles is hella too much especially for an 01 that engine has gone to shit

Mr2's would not make a good ski car; mid-engine, rear-drive=bad snow car. Just figure out your price limit and what you want, then narrow it down to a few cars and research them obsessively. Find out any sort of problems they've been known to have before looking at any, then you can make sure that the car's in good shape before you dump all your money on it. Being a nitpicky asshole is the best way to buy a car used, any sort of "small" problem that the owner reports could end up costing you some serious $$$.

dude, find a car with less than 70 thou on it, preferably less than 50. You don't have to buy a newer car, older cars, like a 95 volvo or something would work perfectly fine and will last alot longer than a newer car with 85 thou + miles.

The first one needs engine work, that could be really expensive depending on what it is. Check it out if it's nearby and see if it's anything serious, if it's not you could score a good deal on it.

The second one has over 170,000 miles on it. I don't think that needs further explanation.

thata boy id go with the jetta its stick cheap and low mileage v.s the golf that is auto and way too much mileage they r also fwd decent for snow id say go for it

0bviously it's lower than 170, but it's still now low. We've had a few vw's and they aren't gona last like our volvo will.

if your know your vw's do you have a guess on waht it could be... or waht usually goes wrong with jettas engines

u cant really tell what the prob with the engine is by the price of the car its prob a 2.0 litre i no a bunch of ppl with 2.0s and they do have some probs with them id go for a vr6 or a 1.8t but u will be paying more prob arund 10-15 g's depending on the condtion

how much r u willing to spend cuz everytihng seems to be around 5g's and ur gunna have difficulty finding a car with low mileage at 5 gs but if thats ur price range then just look for the car with the lowest mileage and accomadates ur needs the most

nobody here can tell you that. Does it have frame damage? Engine damage? A picture can't tell you everything that's wrong with it.

on this one it looks to me like a hood bumper and side panel( the one you cant see) and thats not that much if done right...... how much would this usually be

You're lookin at cars that are around 5k, so assuming that's your budget, why buy a car that you need to spend money to fix? Bumpers alone can be like 800 bucks on some cars.

yeah dude you dont want to buy a wrecked car for your first car. especially not one that was in a head on collision, it could have a lot of problems that the owner doesnt know about or doesnt want to tell you about which could make it hard for the car to pass state inspection or require more expensive repairs than you expected. also try looking for a car that has under 100,000miles or close to it. it looks like you only have around 5k to spend so try looking for something a little older like mid 90's.

its luck of the draw with that many miles. If you are even close to buying it, I would have it checked out by probably more then one place that works on hondas though. make sure the test the compression and oil pressue. if that all is ok, then I guess I would go for it.-maybe. I got a BMW with 170k miles and it runs absolutly great. but it is a gamble with that many miles, even with japanise and german cars.

I would look for an older one with less miles.

Get a fuckin Subaru. Im getting my mothers in December, and it will have about 115,000 on it when i get it. O yea its a 2001. But im not worried because all the guys at the dealership she bought it from, have subarus with 300k on them.

hell no man thats a horrible deal, even if it is cheap. my 97 had 145,000 and it never had a problem, AT ALL. never replaced the back drum breaks, stock clutch.

but for a 01, a 4 year newer, car to have 200K... that sucks ass and whoever had that drove a fuck load.

for an 01 you should look around 80K-120K

i just got a 98 teg and it has 107K

Now that I see the price, HELL NO!

get a Subaru if you want practicaility or a BMW if you want style/fun driving times. you can get either one for that price. look for one about 10 years old, and miles around 100k or so.

or get an audi, they have the best awd ever and they are the best in the snow, and most are pretty quick and more fun to drive than a subaru. you could easily find one for about 5 or 6000

no dude. it says 195K mi. at the bottom(of the 01 civic link) the K is shorthand for 1000 and mi. is the abbreviation for miles. so yes that would be 195,000 miles on the civic.

haha fucking classic man.

195K... k (kilo) = 1000 (prefix)

have u ever taken math or physics or engineering?
