sunday is my father's birthday, he's going to be 54 i just don't know what to get him, my family is already doing dinner and stuff, but i want to get him/or make him something anyone have any ideas? serious answers only please, dont bother if you dont have a serious idea
 
Just give him a nice big hug. Nothing beats that.

A new watch maybe? What's he interested in? Sport? Get him a jersey or something, maybe, or a mug with the team's logo on.
 
Comming from a girl here...I agree with the guys saying to do something with him. That's more important than any material thing ever. Daddy's Little Girl..cmon now. Play the role girlie :)

I took my dad fishing. Nothing special, but special to him. So I would say take something of his liking, and go do it with him. Nothing beats spending a day doing something you like with your little girl.
 
one time i gave my dad a framed family portrait.. of the brady bunch, and it has sat on his mantle ever since, right next to the linda lovelace for president pin! no lie.. but anyways.. what about you take him out to dinner.
 
i just found what i thought was a golf ball under my sofa.. but then i saw this cfrack and i opened it up and its a grinder! i dono who it belongs to. oh well
 
it would be more helpful if u posted like his hobbies or something. other than that just get him his favourite drink, like some good whisky or cognac.
