My expirence with volkl

So last year i bought my self a new set up, got some Volkl wall with some marker griffons. They were sick and all untill the sidewall broke not even half way in the season.

So i sent them back to volkl so i could get my warenty. They told me i could eather get the 08 wall or wait till nex year and il be able to get the 2010 one no extra charge or annything. so i decided to take theyre ofer and just ski with my old rossy's for the rest of the season.

Last week i caled the local ski-shop to see what was going on with all my stuff. they informed me that the REP did not order my volkl walls from the compagnie and they ran out of my size of ski. they basicly told me tuf luck buddy but u can get anny other ski. so basicly right now im super pised and i just wanted to share my shitty experience with Volkl and there lack of customer service.
 
that sucks, but it sounds like it was the reps fault, not Volkls. Call up Volkl and see if they'll ship it to you directly, or pick any other ski you want - there aren't many skis out there more expensive than Walls right now (retail), I would pick something new for sure if you can't get Volkl to give you a new set. Usually Volkl has excellent Customer Service so they should be pretty good about this (especially if you still have all the info about your first ski). Good Luck man.
 
They'll probably give you a money warranty, I think they were going to for my friend Dirtystyle. Then you could just buy any other ski.
 
that's a real downer man, but from my experience if you contact volkl directly about warranty issues they will try to help as much as they can...i got the 09's in april of 08 because i had a sidewall issue as well...and when i destroyed the tail of my 09's last april ('09) they sent me a single ski that had a broken mate (so basically i could remount on another ski so i wouldn't have to worry about the broken ski)...pm me and i can send you their number if you need it, but i'm sure if you explain everything they will hook you up with something...
 
sounds to me like your local shop fucked that up when they talked to the rep. speek with volkl directly and you will get either the 2009 or the 2010 walls for free i bet.
 
sounds like the shops or Reps fault in this case...

from my experience working at a shop... some companies are legit enough to call around to some shops and if they have something in inventory you would like (the shop) the company will purchase it from the shop, if the shop agrees and will send it out to you. kind of rare but its worth a shot because i've seen some companies do this before... and if i recall correctly volkl customer service was very easy and non-painful to deal with compared to others.
 
I sent my skis in about a week ago due to a sidewall issue also, it was on the tail. They are sending me next years models as far as i know.

yeah man idk why that happened volkl people are super cool.

the rep in tahoe (Jamie) is one of the coolest guys i know and he will do anything possible to get you what you want.
 
Seriously, snag some chopsticks or gotamas, even if you arent going to ski them and trade them for something else if you can't get walls. this seems like a no brainer.
 
that's two idiotic posts I've seen you post today, one of which you scared off an older member, and I've only been online for 10 minutes. Volkl (or the rep more likely) fucked up and ran out of the ski he wanted so the company offered him anything else he wants. That sounds like superb customer service to me.
 
when i warrantied my armadas they didnt have the ski i sent in so they gave me my pick of any. call volkl up and tell them you want _____ ski and see if they got it. get the most expensive shizz and sell it for somthing else.
 
read your own thread man. people are telling you to get another ski and sell it or trade it for another pair of walls.
 
well basically the ski industry is run by kids like us, so nothing gets done and its a pretty shitty run industry in general with no reliability, honesty, or doing the right thing, he probly forgot and went skiing or something
 
here's the thing... you can't talk directly to Volkl.

I tried doing this during my warranty process but they said I needed to go through my shop for anything to be dealt with. I then asked my shop if they would simply let me speak with Volkl while they were on the phone with Volkl but they wouldn't let me even have a minute on the phone.
 
speak for yourself buddy, i've made multiple phone calls to volkl, they're always pretty cool.

i do work at a shop though..
 
your shop sucks then, you are always able to contact volkl directly, i did it when i broke a bear of GS skis a few years back, my rep didnt have any so he gave me a number for some distribution manager or something and 30 min later i have a pair of new skis being shipped to me. volkl is a good company, and i promise you they have some walls in your size at their warehouse
 
yeah i would say that's because you work for a shop. however, i did get new skis for free at the end of my whole deal so i can't complain about that. what i can complain about is that they initially tried to give me used skis that were drilled twice and were the year (07-08) that volkl walls had all the durability issues, and i never got to talk with volkl during those 2 months
