My Dilemma

Alright, so I am senior in highschool. Meaning I have started doing college apps and what not. So far I have heard back from my top schools, and got accepted at both CU Boulder and University of Vermont. I live in Massachusetts, so UVM is obviously a hell of a lot closer (4 hour drive vs. 4 hour flight). I applied for the business schools at both and got admitted.

Just wondering what your thoughts are as to where I should attend. I know this is a huge decision, and I am not on here asking people to decide for me, I would just like to hear some opinions.

The business school here at CU is pretty damn competitive...I am impressed you got in, a ton of people who apply have to take classes and then reapply if they don't get accepted. I would visit each first and see which one you like better.

yeah, dont nmake a college decsion based on skiing. Visit each school, take to other students maybe sit in on a class, then go home talk it over and make you decision.

Fuck UVM cold and grey for the winter? knee deep pow pow november 9th out in colorado. how could you not want to go to CU. the campus life kills almost everywhere else.

This is true...I have been to 3 different colleges in CO and CU is by far my favorite. It is wild here. Not to mention at the base of the Flat Irons Mountain Range, so the campus could not be prettier. I am biased and probably not much help, sorry!! But I still definitely say visit each one...I made the big mistake of choosing CSU Fort Collins (DO NOT GO THERE) without even visiting. Left one semester later. Good luck with your decision!

My friend who goes to CU said all the frats try to date rape girls. thats pretty lame. Sounds like your schools got no game.

sounds more like the girls drink way too much and go to a hospital... plus the frats arn't part of CU.

I mean if you're into the frat stuff CU isn't the best place to get into the greek sceen.

CU is the shit, it's blown me away, plenty of hot girls, amazind bud, good teachers, so much good skiing.

Ya but Uvm owns most in that category. I am a junior right now and go to high school in vermont so I am about 90% sure i am going there

Girls : boulder

Bud: boulder

Drinks: boulder

Skiing: boulder

you were saying uvm owns in most catagories?

Yeah boulder sounds sick, I wasn't trying to exactly downplay it, as much am im just saying that was lame what happened to my good friend. I think boulder would be a sweet college.

-aight guys

first of all, if you are a full time college student, you will be doing homework and studying. For the few times that you will be skiing, its not worth it to go to a school because of good skiing.....

you don't know what you're talking about, i pulled a solid 3.0 and i skiied durring the week, i had 12 days by the begining of december

any other opinions? im not jsut looking for the skiing, though it is a big part. i also want a solid education and future.

kinda but i love it at cu, it'd be bad to see anyone miss a great exsperiance by staying on the east coast

honestly you should pick it after you visit the campus. youll get a feeling of i want to be here.

"exsperiance" huh? is that how they spell it at that fine university

Go for CU. Boulder is fun town and the skiing is good. Unfortunately, you will get most of your days skiing in Summit County when the best skiing in CO is in other places.

Alright Tom, I'm in the Leeds School of Business at CU. I love it. Here is what is should come down to- where do you want to live after college? Leeds is one of the two best business schools in the entire rocky mountain region. THERE IS NO BETTER BUSINESS SCHOOL BETWEEN MISSOURI AND CALIFORNIA AND NORTH OF TEXAS. (Declaimer- University of Denver is also really good. some people will argue it is better. The point is Leeds and UD are both really good) Denver is the only school that is up there with us, and we kick the shit out of U of Utah. If you want to live out west, go to CU. This is where you will make connections, get internships, and get a job out of college.

And if that isn't enough...Every morning I wake up to this

...and 2-3 days a week I get to ski better mountains than there are in Vermont. For the time that you are in college, do you want the Green Mountains or the Rockies? Come out to BOulder and drive in on Highway 36 at sunset...as you hit the last hill between Broomfield and Boulder, you will know where to go.

Oh...and we have higher SAT scores than UVM...so there!

Were you replying to me? If you were, I was just giving you shit. It's a habit of mine. Grammar Freak.

One of my best friends spells like a 5-year-old and I love to bust his balls.

ah its alright...there is this thing from oxford that even if the words are mispelled you will still understand it.

well if you are basing it on skiing, I guess it comes down to whether you want to ski ice or pow for the next 4 years. Tough decision I know.
