Damn i bought this thing last feb. and it already had a battery replaced. now ym hard drive is making funny noises and they're sending me a new hard drive. what a piece of junk. my brother bought one about two years ago and just ended up buying a new one (i dunno why he'd choose dell again). my dad's just had some fan problems as well...my sister's is the only one that worked fine. amazing.

yeah i know; that's what i get for buying pc instead of mac...blah blah.
 
Your first problem was buying a Dell... Nah I get that they're cheap comps. and if you can make them last they're ok...

i feel you.

dell is big time garbage. mine fucking crapped out after a year or two, and for a long time i had the loud rattle too.

its pure crap
 
well all of our comps are in the $2000 range. you'd think you'd get over a year for that shit. at least the dell support is free. toshiba makes you pay $35 just to talk to them.
 
a lot of people like dell, but i have found their customer service to be great. my friend just got a brand new laptop from them because he spilled water on the keyboard, but told them it jsut stopped working one day. and i've had a dell xps for 2 years now and it is still running just like new. it's perfect for what i need. if price wasn't an option though i'd probably go with high-end macs or a sony or something.
 
we got the warrenty that's why my comp is being replaced. its just a pain in the ass talking to some arabian guy over an internet chat session. its taken a month for them to send me the hard drive cuz they have me do all these stupid tests.

"unplug the hard drive. did it fix it?"

no.

"oh did you unplug the dvd rom? does that fix it?"

no.

"oh well im gonna neeed you to dismantle the whole computer, mix up the parts and put it back together again."

uh, i'm not asian i'm gonna fuck this up.

"mmmm yes exactly. warrenty viod! Dumb American HAHAHAAHAHAH!"

did you know that some of the jobs in some of those massive tech support buildings (such as in banglapore, india) are actually high-end desirable jobs that are eagerly sought after by many of the people in the area? there is some interesting stuff about those support/telemarketing centers that a lot of people don't know.
 
i did not know that, however it seems like common sense. i imagine sitting at a cushy desk job with a decent pay is better than the guy scrapping elephant shit off of the streets of india.
 
yeah there not for everyone i guess. all my friends want macs and think there the best thing invented, yet they dont do anything media related such as photography,videography ect and all they do is play game on the computer. i try to explain to them that there arent many games for mac and for the price and what your doing its not worth it but they just go on with mindless banter on things they know nothing about. for some people there the perfect solution, to others its the wrong path that will lead to bigger headaches. i agree with you 100%, there good for alot of people, just not everyone.
 
yea im not gay and hace a life. if i needed to watch my boyfriend via web cam and play warcraft online i'd def. get a mac. instead i need the internet (for straight porn), microsoft word & email. thank god mac is so much better at gay porn and the everyday life things than PC's. i feel so inferior.

but reallhy my laptop died because i was trying to watch a video of nomensteven sucking harvey's man-arm. the anticipation almost got me off, bummer.
