My debit card's number just got stolen..

what the fuck? i got a call from the bank asking if i had spent like 500 dollars at empire clothing. i said no, because i haven't used my card in weeks and this was recently. plus i think i'd remember a purchase that big. but i'm confused...i have my debit card, but she said they used the number. you can't make purchases without the card can you? because there were 2 others, both at like restaurants and shit. how could that be? you can't pay with a number, can you?

has this shit happened to anyone else? it's kinda scary. i need to start carrying cash hahaa.
 
Yes you can pay with just a number and the expiration date of the card. That sucks by the way. I hope you get your money back.
 
yea man this happened to my dad too, the guy spent like 800 bucks at future shop and took 1000 out in cash and some other stuff... it was with his debit card too :S i have no idea how they do it but he got his money backweird
 
it's crazy. it scares the shit out of me though cus i don't even know how anyone could have gotten it, unless it was someone close to me.
 
yup i got my card cloned the other day but luckily the bank froze my account before they could spend anything. it sucked though cause i found out after i put 50$ of gas in my car so i had to leave them my health insurance card and license plate number and go get cash from home.
 
hahaha that blows. my account is going to be watched for like 2 months after this... i guess i can kiss all those porn purchases goodbye.

My card numbers 3918-2849-2834-9299 with an expiration of 09/11 and i can't see to order shit online, hmm
 
banks will cover you if its fraudulent use. it sucks but at least you dont get fucked over with more than a lot of stress.
