well, my dad said some pretty gaper stuff about idea... like

in the park seg i think it was pep doing a flat 7 he says its cool how he can just jump and pull himself around like that

then he's telling me how its illegal to go out of bounds when hes them go under a rope

and now he's watching shanghai six because he thinks the music on it is better...good job dad

he also said alot of other stuff taht i cant remember

meh my dad watched idea with me and he wasnt too impressed with it like I. he liked a few parts of it but most of it he said was too boring. keep in mind he was a cat and heli ski guide for 15 years and has been skiing since he was 4...

get this...my mom said on the airplane to albany the other day..."those trick skis that you just cought aren't skis. skiing is all about carving skis."...WHAT WHAT!

yeah, i showed my grandma courdoroy and ski porn and afterward she said that it wasn't that good but she liked the warren miller movie that she bought for me.

first thing my dad says is when he saw the three of em getting on the chair is

why dont they have poles

hahaha my dad just said i have seen all this crap in your last movie why do you keep on buying new ones if it is the same old stuff

yah my mom doesnt really like twin tips and newschool skiing that much, mostly cause she thinks my dad's perfect old-school carving form is hot or something...but that doesn't matter because my dad thinks it's cool as fuck. he's happy im helping to push the sport in another direction.

and yeah, my snowboarder friends definitely dig the crash segments, but a lot of the guys im friends with who board definitely appreciate some of the sicker things they see in ski movies.

finally, almost every time one of my friends at school finds out that i treat skiing like a religion, they go "ooooooh that's sick! i LOVE warren miller movies, theyre so sweet!"

my gut reaction is just to hang my head and give up on the conversation...

my dad bought my lil sister salomon flyers yesterday. and he liked the openinng seg from yea dude

i remember like three years ago...watching a ski vid in class on the last day....everyone thought it was so gay then perked up at the crashes seg....

i hate them...

yeah, my dad's definitely more of a fan of big mountain vids, but that's what he skis so that's what he appreciates most. He's been watching more and more newschool stuff though since he started learning new spins and flips on the trampoline this summer.

My mom is only a fan of Eric Pollard.

"wow that was really smooth. He's way more graceful than the other skiers. Was that another flatspin?"

"No mom that was a cork."

"Oh. A cork. Okay. Well it was really graceful."

My dad bought Cordoroy and then got very angry when I took it to school with me. He has realized that he will never get it back, so I think he ordered Enjoy. I think he's a rage-films fan.

Your dad is right, ducking ropes is Illegal, and it is totally way to dangerous for you. you could be trapped in an avalanche, what do you think the ropes are for? to protect you!!!!!! Listen to your father...

What if there is a pack of wolves, or land sharks? They hunt in packs too you know... you could be eaten alive. HOw do you think your mother would feel if all they found of you was your right ass cheek your jacket, soaked in blood and shit, and your face? She would be horrified!!!! thats how she would feel.

You could have saved her that if you would just stay in bounds.. oh and use poles.

My father was stoked, I went and visited them and showed him idea and he said he liked the music and the skiing was blowing his mind. he is going to ski on some of last years seth vicious, and he almost wants hellbents for deep days. my father is the man, 63 and still can ski top to bottom all day long in any condition. but yeah he loved idea.

Sounds like you guys all have pretty cool parents. Even if thier effort to relate to things you're interested in makes them seem like "gapers".

everytime i show my parents a movie that i edited they say, "so, when are you going to get paid more?" and "are you moving back east soon?"

my mom was very concerned when she found out skiing now involves "launching off of jumps and doing grind rails"

My friend's dad is amazed on how we can watch skiing and snowboarding movies over and over again.

"Don't you ever get tired of watching those things?"

And he calls anyone that skis handrails a jerk, it is mad funny.

yea my parents fully understand now, haha like back in the day im sure everyone got this, "riding on railings ruins your skis, why would you buy them when you treat them like that". my dad is stoked on it for sure.

my moms cool and knows alot because shes been into action sports stuff since she was a little kid cuz my grandpa had his own plane and sky dived and he also did alot of water skiing and drag raced(know its not an action sport but gotta claim on my papa RIP)

my dad on the other hand has hardly ever seen snow since hes lived so far south his whole life. He gets mad cuz i dont show interest in things he likes like wrestling and UFC. He got really pissed at me one day cuz i talked about skiing all the time.

i showed my friend tbc and he was always saying, i cant beleive he landed that.

the only ski movie my parents have seen is ski porn and the only thing my mom said was can you do that.

my dad saw show and prove at a movie theater but didnt say much

My dad always comments on the heli's and how they are sick, and mucho expensive. and he always take's the avi segments very seriously. my mom just says"i'm glad i'm not their mother"

my mom thinks theyre all "idiots taking unescessary risks" my dad was pretty stoked by push but he doesnt like level 1 movies that much. he like big mountain tho with a little park occasionally
