My Cure for Shinbang?

So, ive never gotten shinbang till this year when i started to wear my boots tight, cause thats what everyone on NS says to do. But, as soon as i started tightening my boots it just got worse and worse. Then I just figured i would wear them loose, and just like that almost all of my shin problems were gone.

Am i the only person this happens to? cause its seems really weird.

i do the top two buckles like half way and the bottom two i never do up. it makes my boots so nice and soft..mmmm softness.

you lose so much control over your skis whenyou loosen your boots. you will feel so much less stable and comfortable in the air and on rrails. so good luck hittin a decent jump with your boots loose

my boots are pretty soft/loose on me. I dont probably throwdown as hard as you guys, but i've never once gotten shinbang.

see a bootfitter, get boots that fit. if you are sliding around ANYWHERE in your boot, they don't fit. You need a boot with a flex that will compliment your riding ability/weight, as well as the shape of your foot. Boots that fit too big are the MAIN reason for shinbang, but there are other reasons. If your boots fit fine when buckled regular, buckle them regular.

Actually, this is kind of odd.. If you hadn't had shinbang before, why would you bother buckling them tighter? No hate or anything, I'm just curious as to why you would do that just because kids on NS tell you to...

I like to tighten mine best to my ability because I like to have as much control as possible, but I unbuckle them when I get on the lift since I have poor circulation in my feet anyway.

nordica supercharger sparks, anddd theyre 8.5's... my running shoe size is 10.5
i wear my boots tight

yeah same shoe-boot differential as me. I have a 26.5 boot and my nikes are 10.5-11. I have SPK's tho and they're pretty notorious for fitting small.

if you don't want to have to wear your boots loose all the time, you should buy some full tilts, they will completely eliminate all shin-bang problems and any other problem you will ever have in skiing or life.

*joke*

just rock um inbetween...like not loose but dont crank the snaps all the way. just do whats comfortable really

SPKs run small? The SPKs have a 105mm last! Short maybe, but not narrow thats for sure. (I have SPK Pros and Kryptons for all mountain)Especially compared to the Krypton and FT that have a 98mm last.

agreed with OP.

I wear my boots on the loosest setting, but have my strap fairly tight. luckily my boots ACTUALLY fit me, so I have no problem at all with them feeling too loose, or like i'm losing control

i love it

full tilts let you tighten your boots as much as you want cuase its impossible to get shin bang with them.

also its really hard to fall when you have them on

i think its just me hahaha. i managed to learn 10s today (claim) with my boots on the loosest notch. it seems to work fine.

as to all the full tilt comments, im totally looking into them for my next boots. only problem is ive got wide flat feet.

He did what kids on NS told him because it makes sense. If your foot and leg are moving around in your boot causing you pain then the only obvious answer is to tighten the boot up.

Kryptons fit true to size, or a bit large if anything. But they are a fairly narrow boots so dont let that confuse you.

exactly, and i started skiing freestyle too and all the coaches told me tighten them. it was the combo of those two things.

My boots are a half size to big and I have the buckles

and they are still loose even with two pairs of socks. I am jealous of all you who have tight boots

i wear em super super cranked tight when im in the park and when im going up the lift i just pop the 2 buckles. works for me, might not for you.

I dno about you guys but i cant do my boots up supertight or else my calves KILL me(i have super beast calves)..sort of unrelated but is there anyway to fix it?

i found full tilts and dalbello's super uncomfortable. i hate all this hype behind those brands. my spk's blow them out of the water, i did have a lot of punching done to them but they fit like shoes.

well i am not a diehard rail guy, so i mostly hit stuff with higher speed. what makes it harder for me to think a soft/loose boot could be a good thing.
