My campus PD

Howdy,

So a few weeks ago we hit an urban spot on campus, I posted some of the pics from the session on my Facebook page. We got in and out no interaction with any police or campus PD of the sort. We even talked to a janitor who came out and watched for a bit, told us to be careful and returned.

Today my girlfriend was contacted via campus PD that they had seen on my Facebook that she was dating me, and that she should tell me I shouldn't do that again or I would be charged with criminal trespass but for now all was good,

I don't mind being told to leave a spot, there was no no skateboarding signs or anything of the sort (although I do realize urban isn't smiled upon) but nevertheless never was told by them.

What offended me was them contacting my girlfriend WITHOUT ever contacting me, essentially trying to embarrass there way into getting me never to hit urban there again without ever opening or attempting to open a conversation with me.

I know there was no harm, but is there anything I can or should do? It bothered me how they went about it, I know it's unprofessional on there behalf, but I have no idea if there was anything legally or logistically wrong which they did.

Amateur lawyers of NS help

Just realized there is some shit grammar in there but hey I'm on my phone, my apologies.

My campus PD likes to bitch at me for skateboarding on campus cause evidently we aren't allowed to do tricks. I just laugh at them every time.

don't apologize to me, apologize to your campus pd!

Please call their sergeant and complain that they failed to request charges against you and instead chose leniency

good call, I'll be raking in millions in settlement

Its simple man. Your on a school campus...you really don't have the "rights" a person who isn't enrolled in an education on campus has they can do what they want. Plus, they don't want people vandalizing their rails plain and simple. Just don't do it again be glad you didn't get in trouble.

I do go to school there. There was no damage, the only reason anyone found out was another student used the picture for an art project for a new ski industries program.

So you never actually made it onto a rail? you stayed on snow the entire time?

Tell them to fuck off. Make your profile private.

i would probably just start shitting in random places on campus, and try to fuck with them as much as possible.

I'm a man of principle and that's just not how you should handle shit. Not surprised coming from shitty rent a cops.

IT probably would get me into some trouble, but I wouldn't be able to help myself. IF you can try and grind the roof, or air over a campus pd with a road gap. Fuck em.

It was a gap from an elevated walkway down onto a grass landing. Snow and snow were the two surfaces contacted

then its a liability issue. do you at least understand that?

You're not getting the issue I have... I was upset they contacted my girlfriend instead of contacting me regarding a legal matter and possible consequences of actions. I am not upset they don't want me skiing on campus...

Haha campus cops are always the most idiotic ever.

Even if they did try to charge you with something, it wouldn't even make it to court. They'd be so lacking for concrete evidence, and there were no in-person witnesses on their behalf.

They might as well have contacted you about being in a photo where there was a bong in the background. They're scraping the barrel for anything to do simply because they wish they were real cops, or had any power.

As for there being anything you can do about this? I mean, not really... If anything it was unprofessional as you said, but it's best at this point to move on and ignore it unless they pull similar crap again.

So go file a complaint. Or continue being a internet tough guy. I think we all know what you will choose.

Stop being a shit fuck for starters.

If you don't want your info, pictures, and shit out in the open, delete your god damn facebook. Problem solved.

You kids don't realize everything these days is public and out in the open. You have no idea how many people I have not hired for reasons like this. Simple google search, and boom. No surprise colleges are doing this...I would if I was a college cop

Tell me exactly how many people you have not hired for skiing in the streets on their Facebook

I wouldnt. Im sure you can understand how pictures of an applicant currently doing illegal stuff is not attractive to employers, right?

Better yet, make your facebook private, or change the name to your nickname and middle name.

Your amount of 'give a fuck' is way too high about "you kids".

It's different if you google search someone and their main photo is them doing a line, but if it's skiing? Come on... You seriously wouldn't hire them because they did some urban?

I guess you're going after prudent, boring, uncreative people for your business. Have fun building a solid, diverse team to grow it. Maybe it's different for me being that I'm doing hiring for a company that needs to innovate.. but I only dismiss someone if their facebook shows some blatantly fucked up shit.

I was referring to stupid shit in general people post on facebook, and make public, and then expect no one to see it. Or are shocked when someone looks them up and there are consequences.

helped my friends build a jump, and part of the run in crossed the road. I go to a small private school and there was no one on the roads this day (on campus), we had 100+ yards visibility on either side. Cops bitched at us for crossing the road, I explained that we had people watching and it was safer than skateboarding (something they actually allow). He tells us not to cross the road, but can otherwise continue to ski. We agree, my friends hit a cool drop into the tennis courts. A week or two later I get an email telling me I got written up and to go to a meeting (same type of email you get for an MIP). Turns out, the cop decided that even though he let me go and said it was fine, and wrote that I wasn't breaking any laws, he wanted me to be written up (and I wasn't even one of the guys hitting it). At least the woman I met with was reasonable, she said she was confused by the letter, I told he exactly what we were doing, and she ended up telling me it was fine, to stay safe, and that she was confused as to why the cop even field a report without telling me. Ultimately, at school, especially private school, its a gray area. Certain things are legal, but frowned upon, and the school can take liberties with this.

TL;DR Be respectful, campus PD can make your life a living hell even if you aren't breaking the law, so try to stay on their good side

Well.. no response

Well what? What are you trying to get at?

I have not hired people due to Facebook issues.

No, not some punk kid hitting urban, but just stupid stuff on public sits in general.

You kids on this site take stuff way out of context...

I wouldnt hire you cause you're acting like a 12 year old with this.

If they simply contacted you and were polite about everything I would be fine with it even if it were on a personal account on any social media. But contacting your girlfriend is just creepy and irresponsible on their part they should have been more professional with their job. I wouldn't try to make anything out of it since you don't have much of an argument against them.

It's really quite simple. Just take a shit in a brown paper bag. Place it by the campus PD's door. Light it on fire. Knock on said door. RUN!
