when i told him i was gunna do some urbans next yr. he got in this whole arguement about how fucked up I'm gunna get by the cops and shit. i told him that skiers do it a lot including the pro's. he said that the pro's always ask for permission before doin a rail.

what a n00b, but sometimes they actually do if they get caught and they say there a pro film crew then sometimes the people give them permission as long as they clean it up at the end of the sesh.

well i can say that sometime film crews ask for permission for some urban.

Most of the time, it's only in high bust factor spots tho.

well put a pro doesn't ask the filmer does I think josh berman talks about it in one of his vids in the director commentary or something liek that.

i think depending on the location people will ask

but most occasions no

cus if security or police come over just be nice clean up and leave the handrail the way it was when you got there

also when you see video parts of guys getting busted for urbaning its because theve already ignored people saying "you cant do that here"

Its really not hard to get permission, if you ask politely and say please they most offten will give you the go ahead. Just tell them that you would do it at night so you would not hurt any pedestrians, also if they bring up acountability tell them you will not sue them if you get hurt (dont bring this up unless they bring it up first or you are getting desperate). Also dont tell them the exact time you are going to do it at first, that way if you dont get permission you can just come 2-3 hours later. If it is public property you should be fine, especialy schools in the summer.

yes you do if you have a professional shoot. Not your buddy with a Hi-8.

Lights generators and shit you should get permission.

lights and generators are for unsanctioned night shoots ...when you have permission you have more options.. like the sun, sunlight works a lot better than shitty shop lights

that HUDGE urban s rail in high five they had to get like permission from 2 peole and like film permits and stuff. and no one ever completely greased it

if you watch Berman's commentary on High Five he says he had to work super hard to get persmission for the skiers to session that soccer goal on some campus. However if you watch the Cops! thing, they obviously did not get permission to do the rail in the shipyard and that ledge.

That s-rail is in a BMX video, "Drop the Hammer". The guy greased it and from the angle he was filming it really showed how long the thing was.

hes part right, somtimes they get the go ahead but some times they just see a nice on and jib it. then some cops show up and there like "your doing what? on what? on skis?..................just get outa here

Rarely ask for permission, let alone get it. Most people aren't pumped about destroying their property. Although, a bunch of times we've gotten consent.

fuck getting permission, hit that shit and if the cops come you use the same line ever time " we were just makeing a little ski jump for a school video, sorry we didnt know we couldnt" then there like w/e just leave then you come back 2 hours later and slay it

yeah for video shoots it helps to get permission and a lot of them do. but 99% of the time when anyone goes out to hit an urban rail there is no permission involved.

we get kicked out of spots all the time. your brother sounds like a pussy.

Yeah. The COPS ask the 9 for permission to stand around and watch.

They usually are found at the bottom of the river shortly thereafter. With bullets in them. And shit.

i think it relle depends on wer they are and when theyre doing it. like in a rollerblading movie ive seen parts of one guy does a sw3 over a huge staircase then slides a rail in the middle of a college campus during a school day. and it looked like teachers and faculty wer watchin. but then in ski movies iv also seen guys hit urbans and the cops are standing at the bottom watching. it was at night in front of a boot work shop. but then if its like some staircase rail at some public park in the middle of the night noone is gonna be ther so then they prolly dont.

but ive never actually talked to a pro about it

Rollerblading is different from skiing because skiing takes a lot more prep. to do. With rollerblading they can just go up to the rail and hit it. Also when a cop comes, they can just roller around like nothing is happening unlike a skier.

The best is when you do rails and the security guard comes to the site and gets more stoked on whats goin down than you are..
