Seriously? I loved the place enough to the point where I bought myself a season pass there, but after reading this, they can kiss my season pass money goodbye. I'll spend my money at Bridger Bowl no problem.

Please go write on their facebook wall, or email them if you don't want to see this kind of favoritism bullshit.

Hey brother you know I just wanna have everyone experience waiting in line you know. It just makes the whole tram ride that much better. Wait for your turns man.

I, on the other hand, will be mountaineering up Lone Peak because that's the only way to do it.

Just fucking around but really it isn't that big of a deal. It starts at 10:45am so the hardcore people will still get the tram to themselves for a couple hours. I will for sure use it on the weekends when you have to wait behind 50 people with Go Pros or people who are going up just for a scenic route. Also it will be a super easy way to get back to Dakota real early in the day.
 
pretty weak. the line already moderated itself, with the exception of instructors and their clients cutting.

it makes it easy to get one guaranteed lap, but a manageable 40 minute wait is now an unreasonable hour-long wait. it's great for those looking to get their myspace picture at 11,166 feet (OMG!), but sucks for those who want to get first tram and lap it all day. dirtbags are gonna rage.

it also sucks for making a mid-day slot in the big. i've already missed a slot because of an instructor and his group cutting, and now it's a whole new level of unpredictability.

the big sky employees undoubtedly got the worst of this, though. they can't even use the "fast" pass.

 
i see what you're saying, but it wouldn't work because the fast pass slots are gotten at the base area before opening and big slots are gotten at the peak patrol shack sometime later
 
This program is retarded, The tram rarely opens much before 10:45 on pow days, and avoiding the triple/tram entirely is the fastest way to get to Dakota, always. Pick up a trail map sometime, you'll figure it out. Oh, and I hope some local pelts you with their Go Pro this weekend for being a dumbass.
 
Looks like I'll need a fast pass to get to the front of the fast pass line.

Jenks calm down, the program is kinda destined to fail. It's in "Trial" its not going to make it. Not a chance in all hell.
 
You could get a fast pass and justify the extra 10-20min you have to stand in line each time with the extra 40-50min you saved by getting a fast pass.

I mean if it's there, why not use it?
 
Wait and see how cool this is when next year the "fast pass" is something you have to purchase. The rich gapers who are willing to spend an extra $10 to cut you in the tram line are going to be awesome after you have been sitting there for a half hour and want to go shred fresh pow.

All this is leading to is another way for Big Sky to squeeze another dime out of people's pockets, mark my words.
 
The real reason the tram pass is gay is because employees don't qualify. which means when I wake up on my day off to catch first tram, I get bumped out by some guy on vacation from North Carolina who is just going to ski down the bowl, and then when I finally get up there, the big/little couloir slots are filled till 11am.
 
The fast pass is dope. You know its only in effect for the weekends, i didn't think anyone in their right mind lapped the tram on weekends. It also starts at 11 so you could easily get first tram chair take a quick tram lap and then use a fast tram pass (provided ure their to pick it up at 830) to take another quick lap. It sounds like a good idea to me.

The initial emails we got about it said nothing about the 11am start of the weekends only, so that is excellent news. But I don't really care now, cuz my season is over now.
