Hey, Im workin on my backyard. It is gonna be oh so sweet. im workin on the big table jump, which is about 7 ft high, 8 feet wide, and 12 feet long. the gap to the landing which is gonna be made out of hay bales, is gonna be somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30 ft. the takeoff ramp is constructed out of a playground thing we had in our backyard, that i ripped apart. its about 20 ft high, an im thinkin of adding another 5 feet or so. on the side, is gonna be another ramp that is gonna go to the rails. Right now i have a rainbow rail (bout 5 ft high, 15 ft long) and i plan on building a c or s rail, trap rail, kinked rail, and a few straight rails. as for other crap im gonna steel some cool plastic tables from my school and set up a fun box thing. and im gonna have a disaster silde that goes onto one of those yellow playground slides that has a wave in it. If anyone is in northeast Ohio, wants to come, im gonna have a huge huck party some friday or somethin, Stereo, lights, itll be cool. My reasoning for doing this? they don't allow inverts at any resort around me and i wanna learn shit. Ive spent $0 cash so far too, which makes it that much better! oh Pray for snow!

well, the rainbow was made out of my nieghbors trampoline frame, (it was broken and in a big pile and they wouldn't give or sell it to me so i stole it;) and the others, well il just have to make a trip to the local pipe and supply store. I need a good mig welder! the rainbow was mad with this super ghetto arc welder, and it left a ton of slag.

yea that sounds pretty kickin, I did stuff like that with my backyard last year but not to that extent, had like a 15 ft drop in a qp against my shed and like a 5 foot booter.

Back yard park's are alot of work you have to move so much snow, you should make most of the park out of wood first it will make your life so much easier. Trust me i know i build a park in backyard park last year

yeah, i will. the rainbow is a little rusty in the welds, we never painted it, cause i never knew to do that, so i gotta sand off the rust. Its been sitten behind my shed all summer. but yah know what really sucks bout that rail, when i set it up, i had to use snow to hold it up. I stayed home from school one day, and piled up this sweet spine. the entire thing was this rolling spine with a rail on top. soooooo cool, and you couldn't nut yourself either. but it only stayed their about three days cause it raned and it all melted :(

Dude, use logs or something else for the landing. My friend used hay bales, and one day when it got kinda warm and the sun was on them all day, they rotted within the day. They get all mushy and shitty if it ever rains or gets over 32 degrees.

man thats rad...in my backyard we made a pretty good kicker, and this year we stole 2 rails, one is like an s rail sorta, and the other is just a normal rail, like 7-8 ft and 3 ft high...we've found like 2 more to steal...hehe i feal bad for stealing, but its gonna be sick. yeee haw.

I make a little rail hit in my backyard, and my backyard is FLAT. Not even an ant-hill on it, but we do have a little ledge with a garden on top (my whole backyard has a ledge going up about 2 feet on the edge facing my house) and i just make a little 1/4 pipe going down it. After it snows enough, I add picnic benches on top of the ledge and make it even higher for more speed. This year, we built a deck coming off the back of my house that ends up being about 4 feet high with no saftey rail, so im gonna use that with a bench on top. With enough time and snow, i might be able to make a little kicker or something if my inrun ends up being tall enough.

ive heard that before bout hay bales fermenting and shit. i don't think logs would work, cause i would need a TON of um. i really can't make it outa lumber, cause that would cost a ton. any ideas would be apreciated.

Hellz yeah man, last season I had a sick backyar park, I had a run in coming off the peak of my house, I had a staircase leading up to my gutter then I climbed the rest of the way up on a ladder, then I had four various rails and two 10 foot tabletops, I have a friend with a snowplow so we just got all my snow and piled it into piled then sculpted the jumps, it was soo tight, I live in SW Michigan so where is not much here for terrain parks at our resorts, so I make my own, its so freakin fun and its well worth it, peace, CRAZY A

damn you are going to have alot of stuff. I am going to try and have one crazy rail...either a kink or a S rail. But I am mainly concentrating on this huge kicker, it is going to be off my friends 10ft high deck, when its done you should fly 20-40 ft

 
im not a big back yarder, but this year should be cool enough... just rails though, not enough room or speed for jumps... i live in a court, and my brother has this dumb idea for a tow-in to the mountain that's always in the middle, so he thinks we can make a hip outta it... good luck to the car stopping on ice at 40km/h?

Backyard parks eh? Well, I would call what I'm making actually a 'front field park' cause it is in the front field of our farm, this year, one feature.

A 50 ft backcountry style kicker, I'm dead serious, pics of the set up will be up eventually, I have all these huge tree trunks that took 3 people to get out of the woods for my starting ramp, playwood platform on top of 4 of those.

Perfect run in to the kicker and then the sickest landing after a few snowstroms and some wind, the wind form it just perfect. I love being a hick.

i have one kinked rail, im guna build a straight one this weekend, i have just enough of a slope. maybe if i pile enough at the top to get enough speed i can make a small kicker

This is what I was rocking, and it went to a 1/4 pipe,

Notice the tree post go above the starting ramp that way you can give yourself a huge push start to get enough speed...

mwhahaha after looking in our shed i found out that i now have a small rainbow..., its the part of the trampoline that the spring go into on the top. turned on its side it makes a small rainbow, and i can put to of them together to make a double barrel.

dude that kicks major ass!! and to answer the question on why you can't go inverted it is because the ski area's insurance will not cover any injuries from doing inverts. where i ski they pay people to ski in the parks with us and take our tickets away if we did one. but this never stoped the people from going inverted!!

 
sunshine is rad in that way, they are cool with people going inverted have a rad backcountry policy, the patrol are pretty chill and super nice from my experience. backyard parks rule and yes pictures pictures pictures

go small it does not hurt as much
 
i have the perfect inrun to my backyard shit, it's like a steep 40 foot hill. it's fun to grind my trampoline.

Across the street from me (I live on a lake) there is a HUGE hill that goes down to my house. Over the past year I befriended the people that own that land and there gonna let me do whatever I want with it. This hill is prolly the size of some peoples ski areas, so its gonna be amazing.

 
east coast style, you sound like your planning on using your park this year. Are you guys still getting snow up there? Is there still snow on the ground??? im in columbus and we have temperatures in the 60's and 70's right now, so im confused.
