My 2008 Volkl Wall PICS

Alright ladies and gents. Here they are, my new 2008 Volkl Wall. Length: 177 , Width: 87. For all the doubters, skeptics, and non-believers YES my bindings are center-mounted. This is a pure park ski so of course I center mounted them. In fact, the skis come with a silver etched "TRUE CENTER" demarkated in the middle of the ski. Anyways, they are so sick, can't wait to use them at COC Whistler in June.

Thanks guys...the only uncertainty I have with them are the bindings. I mounted Salomon Z12's on them and they've had their criticisms. I decided to go with them though cuz they're ridiculously light, salomon has an awesome warantee policy, and they matched perfectly :).

they don't look center mounted. It's not like I dont believe you, but it just doesn't look like it. Even though they have a line for true center, measure it and see if the exact center of the ski is at that line.

But sick skis. tell us how they are.

I will apologize for Salomon and say that you will be sorry you mounted them with Z12s. But have fun, the skis look like a blast.

just got mine today, only in a 169 they are so sick cant wait to use them in whistler this sunday at momentum

center is center of the sidecut, or at the center of the flex of the ski, true center is literally at the center of the ski

they are for sure not true center....

if you want a ski to really be centered, you have to measure the line out yourself.

but those look like sick skis, and they'll ski better how they're mounted anyways.

wrong, its actually the angle of the pic. Any centre mounted ski taken at an angle looks farther back

well they hardly are at an angle. and since they are leaning against a wall, that would actually make the tails look bigger, so the bindings further forward.

post a picture of you measuring it. i really don't believe those are centered.

Trust me, its the angle. Allowing for distortion, they look damn near, if not, centre mountetd to me..

Who gives a fuck, tehy are the sweetest skis ive seen!now not ar6s its gotta be those, px12s would look sick with the green

I know a lot of skiers thought the Karma's were good for all-mountain riding because they were too stiff for some in the park. Are the wall's still just as stiff you think, or do you think they softened them up to tailor them more to the park?

I'm interesting in getting a pair of last year's Karma's or this year's wall's for a 70/30 All-mtn to Park ratio. Let me know which model you think is best. Thanks.

If you're skiing 30% park I guess I would lean towards last year's karmas. They were built for all-mountain and got the job done. The Walls are park-oriented and are significantly softer than the Karma. In any case, I have yet to try them, so I'll fill you in.

I just finished a week at the Camp of Champions at Whistler...the Walls are great. They are light, have great pop, butter nicely, ski switch perfectly, and stomp landings super smooth... I own a pair of Rossignol Scratch FS and Salomon FOILs and the Walls blow them out of the water. Sick! Highly recommended.

I also just finished a week at momentum ski camp in whistler and I agree with the guy above me^ The walls are great, they hold up on rails and are stiff but not too stiff for jumps but are still a super fun ski
