My 1st Homemade rail Part 2

Well, after posting the first pics of the rail i made with my friend, a lot of people suggested the kink was too steep. Today we fixed it and made another rail while we were at it. All comments/criticism/suggestions are appreciated. Here is the pic of the original rail: (Sorry dont know how to put the pics in the thread)

those are sick dont get me wrong, but how do they cost 120? More like 20 each. It's just wood and pvc....

 
Each rail was about $25-30 in 2x4's. PVC for both rails was $25. Screws were expensive because we used outdoor epoxy coated screws, so about $30 in screws for both rails. And a few brackets to attach the base pieces together on both rails. $120ish was a guess, but it's pretty close.

 
i have so much left over wood in my dadas abandoned barn. its filled with 2x4s, i might make a rail

sick. i plan to build my box(s) this week but i dont want to use pvc. Do you think thick plexyglass will work? i heard it does

 
Our original plan was to use plexi or lexan and countersink the screws. We have a piece of plexi laying around so we tested it to see how it would slide, in my opinion it wont work well at all. The skis had a lot of friction on it. PVC although not the best thing to use, it slides real well. Ive heard puck board is what is used, but i couldnt source any of that out.

Yup thats the stuff.

The whole purpose of the flat is to practice spins on and off.

Oh yea, anyone lives near Queens NYC, drop me a PM in the winter when it snows, we'll be hitting the rails at a local park, and anyone is welcome to come and hit them.

We havent treated the wood yet. We my treat it then paint it, or just paint it with some outdoor wood paint.
