Yeah so MXPX a great band has a commercial out w/ pepsi...the one where everyone is all muddy and the guy sees his dad...anyone see it or know who else is signed w/ pepsi.

o yeah, this isn't a thread about how punk should stay away from corporate sponsors so don't try to make it one

Their newer stuff isn't so good, but I owe them a lot as they really helped me get into punk - Life In General and Teenage Politics are still two of my favourite all time albums, and L.I.G. was one of the records I learned to play bass with.

they originally signed with a christian label as a lot of bands have. so yes you could consider a lot of their older and new stuff christian, but christian is not what i would consider a genre of music more a genre of lyric.

Gotta Love The Midwest

they have the odd reference to god in their music. I'm a big fan. We play Today Is In My Way all the time. good tune.

'Dude, check out this nasty gouge.'

'Your mom has a nasty gouge.'

'He's from Quebec. They pee on the lawn.'

Yeah - there are songs with direct God/Jesus references. A lot of their stuff you can tell is written about God/Jesus if you think about it (I'm thinking of 'I Can Be Friends With You' and 'Without You'), or they could apply to a whole lot of other stuff depending on how you see it, which is pretty cool.

'Today Is In My Way', 'Tomorrow Is Another Day', 'Middlename' and 'Chick Magnet' (awesome bass line) are all awesome songs if you want to check some of their stuff out.

they have a song about mountain dew...so the pepsi affiliation doesn't really suprise me.

i used to listen to them quite a bit, but my tastes changed. meh, it's all how you interpret it.

Christians + Pepsi + Punk rock = Very scary mix, lethal to the feeble minded.

'We offer kids a little darker slice of punk rock. Hopefully it separates us from bands that sing about going to the mall and chewing bubblegum.' - Matt Skiba
