This is not Ben this is Ethan Meyer

I was just wondering if i might be a little crazy or were the judges loopy? so heres how it went down. I ride in this comp series called Midwest X. Madriver Mtn had a pretty nice 65ft jump. My first run was cork 7 ,2nd cork 9 and my last run i landed Cork 1080. not putting names only ppls tricks.

Standings:

1. cork 9 no grab(deserved 1st was lagit)

2. 540 cross/ cased pretty bad but landed(also 3mute)

3. cork 7 tail and fell/540 tail cased but landed

not so sure on 4-7 but pretty close.

4. 720

5. 720

6. 360 tip grab(sick)

7. 360

8. Me with a cork 10 land(i landed not perfect but just under 10) I took it to the flats(not hucked )

the same kid(12yrs) who got 2nd in big air didnt place in rails but he did 450 disater on the flat down and on a 30flat he did 270 on double switch up 270 out.

so over all i would have to say the judges are pretty crazy.

no disrespect, he's young and he threw down, but style has a lot to do with scoring. the 450 disaster looked like he got thrown out of a dryer and he pretty much missed the rail. and it looked like a dance party on the long box. first place definitely earned it in the rail comp. i don't know who got second, and third place was probably the most stylish of the whole comp, just not quite as tech as some of the other riders.

as for the big air, terman's three tip grab should have been up in the top three for sure. same with woody's three blunt. the story would have been a whole lot different if it wasn't so damn windy.

i think the whole thing with no am and pro was kinda gay a lot of people didnt like that i guess they wont change it at any of the other ones either. if they dont they will probly loose tons of people who would have entered am.

5th was a 540 with his skis crossed...that was me..and i kno what your sayin cuz ur hit looked sick up top...too bad they threw out everybodys 3rd run because the wind was so bad and about 7 guys didnt even hit it the 3rd time

i was one of the judges and it was bases all on style i was not the only judge but i would rather see a smooth crossed 3 that hucked 9 or even 10 i think my judging was very fair!! it also is a factor that their was only two rounds of scoring!! i give all the riders props for competing in the wind and i am sorry if you dissagree with the judges scoring. all in all i think that this contest went well!

nope. im backin cody on this. hucked 1080s shouldnt score more than clean stomped 5s or 7s. im not sayin anythin, cause i couldnt land a damn thing yesterday, but i agree, spinning to win should not be the only factor. and i agree with mark, 3-4 switch ups on the flat box is L A M E!

plus, the lil kid in second was like fuckin 12. i think age should def. be takin into some consideration since theres no am division.

100% proof that mxw is completely wack. a friend of mine (boarder) signed up for the rail portion. he paid and everything. but then he found out that there wasn't pro and am. just one group. he didn't even take a single run! he just sat up at the hill hittin on girls or just f'in around....he placed top 5 in the standings. i just checked. now noone can deny it

HAHA. Midwest X is so lame. I can't believe I thought that shit was legit. PNS has a solid comp though. They sorta overrule anything the MWX people say, and just do their own thing. it's awesome.

yeah dude... to the kid that made this.. i think u wear wearing blue pants?? if that is u well yeah u should have placed.. u were going bigger then anyone and if u ski away from a 1080.. it doesnt matter what it looks like its a 1080 in ohio and that should place.. and nick deff. shoulda placed in the rails too i couldnt believe that

yea im the kid with blue pants and props to the jump also that jump was fuckin sweet peeps. and i also was beat not only by a 360 but also a straight air so i guess next time ill just do some steezy straight airs and place top 10 hell yea!!!!

no huck yourself at paoli you will win they like the spin to win theory down there and a fucking 360 should never beat a 1080 no matter how ugly everyone can do a 360 and what is the big deal about a 1080 mass people were doing/ attepting them at perfects last year and rich did a 1260 in MWX at perfects last year people were trying switch 1080s alsoso no big deal on the 1080 and MWX is gay

I wish i could say that i don't agree but sadly i kinda do... MWX is a great idea, Tom P and myself and Jody at Paoli threw it out there about 5 years ago and sadly Urban Wilderness Design, thats right a web design company, was the company that latched on and made it happen. I think that they make good websites, but they don't really know much about running a good comp. and what counts to us. That's why at Perfects we kinda just do what we know/think is right, because we want people to enjoy our contests and keep coming back. I think that PNS will try not to have it next season, hate to say it but don't know that its gonna happen. I would love to see someone else step up and try and make this happen, with all the local area's included, Snowtrails, BMBW or maybe not i don't know. But yeah good thought gone bad in my opinion.

As far as judging goes, everyone can't always be happy. It sucks but its true, look at the debate on the X-games with tanner and Dumont... Not to mention how much of a pain in the ass it is for us to find judges that know what they are even looking at and don't want to compete, and that are impartial, especially when it happens day of and UWD is like "hey we need 3 ski and 3 board judges... today" yeah but that's my rant sorry fellas.

I agree with you tad on this one.... name one event in the history of skiing that people were stoked on the results of a contest. Everyone has their own idea on how things work and how their skiing compares to others...

this is why i love snow trails we had juges that new what was going on one of them i ride with almost everyday a hot tub hummer rail and a buch of drunk people and a huge crowed to get u super stoked to ride when i was at mrm it felt so dead and i didnt even want to ski the jump was super sick but it just didnt seem like people cared at all and it just made me not want to try so inless they start to step up their comps im going to stay at the trails because they know what their doing

PNS big air is always a super good time, and so is Snowtrails. This year hopefully they're not on the same day. And It would be amazing if PNS dropped the MWX next year, and got something going with Snowtrails, and either Paoli or Mad River. It sounds like Mad River is killin it this year.... I'm stoked for them. It's about time.

A PNS, Snowtrails, Mad River circuit would be sick.

^yes it would rich and paoli usually has a decent rail set up but there rails are sketch and so old i dont think they have built a new rail in like 5 years
