They have some decent stuff. More traditional ska - makes a change from all the ska-punk I've got. A lot of their stuff is very similar though.

Check out their early record Skapocalypse Now for some good stuff to dance to - every song except one has the perfect tempo/beat.

Check out The Hippos too for similar style stuff.

i have to say that even when i was into ska, like 4 years ago, i couldnt stand mustard plug.

They arn't toooo bad. I don't really listen to them much anymore, but they would play at Club Soda here in Kalamazoo a lot.

mustard plug plays traditional ska....whats that in the sky? a guy riding a horse? and 3 others? all wearing black....

yeah they have some good shit, and planet smashers thats good stuff.

Yeah, planet smashers are is some hot shit. But Mustard Plug...they're not very unique. As a 3rd Wave band i can't say i like them too much. Anyone who likes Mustard Plug should check out Rx Bandits and Home Grown.

Yeah - RX Bandits are awesome - some good reggae-influenced stuff on 'Halfway Between Here And There'. I saw them support Fenix TX a few years back and they rocked the place.

But homegrown? Are they ska at all? Very good pop-punk none-the-less.

i don't really like the planet smashers...they seem to rely on their lead singer for the quality of their songs, the horns and stuff don't seem like a large part of the sound...almost like it's just backup...but hey, however you get your thrills

-----------

Unity through nationalism isn't unity- it's nazi.

Unity through shared pain and human struggle-that's unity.

Home grown is way, way to poppy for me. I like Rx Bandits. (they just came out wiht a new cd)

Home grown don't have any ska song at all, do they? Yes, they are pretty poppy, but I still do like them too. A very good example of pop-punk done well. They played a really small club in my town last month, but it sold out and they wouldn't sell any more tickets at the door.

moldy peaches, best ska/indie/noise band ever.

Dude, the Bosstones do rule. I saw them at a festival with a big crowd about a year and a half ago and didn't think they were too great, maybe because I didn't know much of their stuff and it was such a big crowd with no room to dance. Then I saw them last year (with Snuff and Consumed) and they fucking ruled. For sure one of the best shows I've been to.

ya I don;t like pop-punk much but if I had to have a favorite pop-punk band it would have to be Home Grown
