This is an old math trick we learned in middle school. Take any 2,3,4,5.... digit number and add the the individual parts together and subtract that from your total number. You will always get a multiple of 9. Every multiple of 9 on this page is the same symbol (like previously said). If you do the math correctly it is impossible to 'win'. For example 673: 6+7+3=16 673-16=657 657 is 9*73. Try it with any number in the world (has to be at least two digits). The concept behind it is rather easy to understand if you look at it on the most simplistic level, 9. As you go away from it you are adding a unit each time you count up. By subtracting that same unit you are just returning to the 'zero'(9) of this function. This function has a period of 9 units, so the zero will return to this 'zero' every nine units.

 
If you want to fuck with your friends tell them that you can read their mind before the website does, and just look at the symbol next to #9 to tell what they will get.

I had to play with that for like 10 minutes to figure out that the multiples of 9 changed every time. Thats pretty good.
