Musicians of NS - What is your favorite album to play all the way through?

I've been a drummer for about 8 years, and just played through the whole Great Misdirect by Between the Buried and Me, and it was my favorite basement drumming experience to date. There's just something about playing through the whole album that's different than just picking one song in particular. So NS, what is your favorite album to play?

On the complete opposite end of the musical spectrum from OP I'd say Boards of Canada's Geogaddi is probably my favorite to just sit down and listen to.

Others include CSNY Deja Vu, Graham Nash's Songs for Beginners, Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues, Royksopp's Melody AM, Bonobo's Black Sands, TMV's Deloused in the Comatorium, Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians..... There's just way too much good music out there.

I'm not a musician but I am definitely inspired to pick up a guitar after listening to this one..

So many good rifts and solos throughout the whole thing, plus the bass lines are unreal. I've been putting off learning an instrument for way too long, maybe it'll happen this year living with a couple buddies who are awesome at the guitar and sax.

my number one would definitely be classics by ratatat. best album ever.

second i think would be by the way from the red hot chili peppers, or one of muse's albums.

after that, i cant decide. i listen to way to much music to narrow it down farther than that.

even though it might get some hate... Macadelic by Mac Miller. The songs are ordered perfectly; and if you listen to the lyrics close enough, it tells a story.

Rush 2112 front and back. Going to see them at tge pepsi center, it was either Rush at pepsi center or Brit Floyd at red rocks, 'twas a tough decision.

And of course, dark side of the moon and wish you were here.

I usually only listen to the first three tracks. The second three don't quite measure up, for me, but the suite is my favorite song, bar none.

Purity Ring - Shrines

The Weeknd - House of Balloons

Zero 7 - The Garden

Of Monsters and Men - My Head is an Animal

Metric - Fantasies

Anything Pink Floyd. Especially The Wall, DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, and The Division Bell

The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me - Brand New

The Sky is Crying - SRV

I love drumming over some mellow beats like Banobo, or tycho. I use that music as a replacement for a metronome most of the time when i practice. But then again, playing "Take off your pants and jacket" by blink 182, "On letting go" by Circa survive and "the inevitable and I" by Harvard are challenging and some of my favorite to play with as well

been a drummer for 8 yrs too ;) i like stadium arcadium (rhcp), there's two cd as well which makes like 30 songs. I'm really bad at choosing songs to play when i'm alone though, its really annoying, i can never find what I wanna play...

There's nothing quite like getting baked and listening to the TRON soundtrack. If it weren't for the music I don't think that movie would have been watchable. Middle School Swag by Fthrsn is also very good all the way through.

Bonobo - Black Sands

Pink Floyd - Dark side of the Moon

Are the two big ones I'll just throw the headphones on and chill on the couch for awhile

You did fucking not play the Great Misdirect all the way through you lying whore.

Also I feel lazy because I've never learned more than like 4 songs on an album

Alt-J - An Awesome WavePut on some headphones, smoke some herb, and this album will transport you someplace else

Audioslave - Album AudioslaveDarkside of the Moon of course, and definitely Wish You Were Here

Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind, Blue is good too

As Tall As Lions - As Tall As Lions

Band of Horses - Everything All The Time

Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head

The Killers - Sawdust

I could go on forever... And what's with all the self titled albums hahaha
