how many of you listen to music while riding? if you do, what kinda mp3 player/mini disc do you use? im thinking of getting a mini disc player cuz i hear they are harder to brake.

i use my ipod occasionaly while skiing but im usualy riding with people and would rather have conversations and head phones are kinda a pain when ur not using them and ur tring to talk to some one

ok, everyone i ride with rocks headphones, and it doesnt effect out conversations. you just lift of the one side and talk, or get a piar with a mute button. it helps your flow a ton. and also, do not get an MD player. they are very easy to brake. the toughest music player you can get is a flash memory mp3 player. they have no moving parts, and are idestructable. however, a harddrive player holds a hell of a lot more songs, and that is a defintae plus. and i have never had problems with my ipod while skiing.

if im by myself when my boarder buds are sleeping, ill bring my lil mp3 player with a 256 mb sd card. I think if you can get a good deal on an MD player, go for it my friend is happy with his

yup, i often ski by myself, but i use an mps cd player. it's very small for a cd player, and each cd can hold about 250 songs. i won't use it when i'm with people, though.

i have an ipod but i dont want 2 eat shit and break it, so i use another mp3 but if im with a group of people i dont use them

-let people do what they want, ski how you want, make whoever you want your role model its your choice

again, riding with headphones doesnt hurt your ability to talk to people. i will drive home if i forget my headphones/music at home. its such an intergral part of my skiing.

i've fucked up the headphone jacks in the past 3 music devices I've used over the years for skiing and skateboarding. it really pisses me off. someone needs to make it so the headphone jack stays put and doesn't break free like what has happened to me.

I will be using the iPod with Matias iPod Armor this year. Shit doesn't break when its in the Armor.

I have had alot of BAD luck with Mp3 players. Seems like everyone i get breaks.

My best so far has been the RCA Lyra 256 mb with FM tuner. Its real small and easy to use. Have skied, run a marathon, and worked with it. Never had any problems.

 
Check out the new jacket, I think burton makes it, in the the new Powder mag. It has a place to plug in your i-pod or whatever to your jacket and you can control it from your sleeve. the buttons are built into the jacket.

 
I actually wouldn't recommend a mini disc player becasue you can't put a lot of songs on a disc, buy an ipod or creatice or something that hjolds tons of songs

o come on, i'd go with the mini disc player. i use it every time i go skiin unless im with people, you dont need thousands of soungs on a single player once you go skiing. yer not gonna go through all of em in one day. plus, if you wanna hear a diff. mix, you can just put in a diff. disc, they're so tiny you could fit em in just about any pocket. and yes, they are less prone to breaking. i dont know, i guess i'd deff. go with a mini disk player. i myself have a sony. sony's got a pretty good return policy. last year i landed on my pocket with the player in it and it wouldnt read the disk anymore and i sent it back and got a brand new one.

i do. i had a nike mp3 player but its kinda retarted, idont really recomend it. now i use a sony phsyce cd player and it barley skips at all but im gonna get one of the new generation ipods

yup i listen when i ski alone. i use my ghetto taped together tape player cause i dont wanna break my ipod and i find listening to rap make me ride better the way it flows.

when im alone music is a must.. but if im with a fried then i usually just carry my ipod in my pocket r something if i wanna listen to it at some point during the day

I use an ipod, its the only way to go, your whole cd collection with you while your skiing in something thats twice as small as a cd player. If you get an iskin its fairly protective so you can fall on it. its not that big of deal when skiing w/ friends, i usually leave one earphone in so i can hear.

get an ipod, and get the case that zips-pretty waterproof. dunt wry about fallin on it its not gona break, ive taken sum big crashes wit it and nothin happens. get the remote and wen ppl talk pause it or turn the volume down, theres a level of volume where u can hear it and hear ur freinds 2. deff ski wit one i never ski witout it

u people just need to get extended warranty's on ur mp3/ipods and shit bc then u can take it anywhere and not worry about them breaking i have done that with every electronic ive bought and ive replaced them every single time and had no questions asked at best buy and i dont think its just best buy so like get one and stop ur worrying

 
yea my first mini ipod was a peice of shit and wouldn't work at all, it would just turn off and i would have to 'reboot' it to start it and half the time that wouldn't even work. so now i have a new ipod, i went to the apple store like 5 times trying to get it fixed they are dumb as fuck there, but they did finaly just replace it, just keep all your papers

I just recently started riding with a CD player, I find it skips occasionally but the song changeing feature makes it alot easier then the tape player.. if you can afford it.
