Music sharing

so im getting a macbook for graduation but currently im using a regular windows laptop. I was about to start copying all of my music to cd's so that i could then put that music onto my new mac. i then remembered that i could share my music within my home network (btw, i use a wireless router) it seems as if this is a perfect solution, that is, to share all of my music from the old laptop then just take it and put it onto the mac from the network. is this possible ? i only ask because i know that its difficult if not impossible, to get to shared music from a linux computer when said music is hosted on a windows pc. so i figured the same may apply to a pc to mac sorta set up. hopefully, i made sense

search for the OurTunes program. with itunes on the pc turn on sharing or whatever and you should be able to download everything pretty fast.

i find that when i open limewire a shared tab comes up in itunes on all computers on my network so you could do that but i dont really know how to do it. if you have an ipod this method if by far the easiest-just enable disk use and put your music folder in there adn then just open it on the macbook. im not very computer savvy so i havent figured out hte whole network thing though, sorry.
