Music mixing program

Im looking for a music program so i can edit some of my songs. I dont have anything at all. And im not amazing with computers so i want something thats relatively easy to use like garage band but for XP.

Oh yea and it needs to be free

for a free program Audacity is alright. Pretty simple to use and that.

audacity is good if you wanna cut up a song and erase some stuff or move some parts. you wont really get a music mixing program like garageband for free, but if i were you i would check out Ableton or Adobe Audition. Adobe audition is more suited to doing editing and mixing while ableton is all about creating new music and remixing.

you can get audacity in the synaptic package manager in linux

ableton live is hella good. expensive if you are looking to buy it. I have used audacity, pretty good for for just editing. and ya virtual dj is pretty good for mixing. also a free open source program like virtual dj, called djay I think. might just be for mac though, can probably find open source stuff for most everythign.
