Saw the thread in NSG and decide to make a local one. Anyone know of music festivals driving distance from our area? Any genre. Let's get the ideas flowing. Jamestown has the blue Herron which is a bluegrass type hippy festival where you can camp out. It's in august I'm pretty sure. Post up!

Depends on where you're from, what you're into and how far you're willing to drive honestly.

I haven't done a heron fest but I did night lights there last year.

I know most of the ones in the region other than edm fests that is.

Catskill chill might be one to check out. I did the first 3, first one was real small and super chill. It grew fast and reached it's capacity of 5k and added other genres and brought in a more diverse crowd but it's still pretty chill and a great time. Honestly judging byt what a lot of nsers like I think people would like it better now. I did Lock'n in virginia that weekend last year and I won't be in the states for it this year.

^ If I could give a "Don't Miss" festival that anybody would have a great time at it would be that.

For me I'll probably only get to hit strawberry jam and shake the mountain. 2 small fests with 3 or 400 maybe in Norhville NY (ADK's) If I can get some posters or pins to sell I might hit scamp and wakarusa but only if I can break even or better. Can't spend shit this summer.

By the time main festy season is going I'll be gone though. By the time I get back it'll be winter mode. With some great lineups and a easily doable phish tour I hate myself. No phish Spac this year? Fuck me I'm a god damn noob.

Planned on doing spac>Chicago.

Oh yeah don't forget vibes. Not in those 3 states but right there and the best lineup of the summer if you like bands. It's going to suck hard too miss it. Probably will cut myself for every good band on the lineup.

I've succeeded in not helping at all so I'll go to bed.

I'll look those up ^ I'd like to go to an EDM type lineup but honestly all music festivals are a good time. Went to warped which isn't my thing really and had a blast

Where abouts is that?

Bethel, NY at Bethelwoods performing arts center. The site of the '69 woodstock. First camping festival on the site since! Check out the mysteryland site, looks so serious.. they still have weekend passes with off site camping. I have the holy ground camping passes but from I've seen the off site camping is going to be a serious party as well.

I was gonna go to that last year. Can't remember why I didn't. Might have been some shows or a fest the same weekend. Heard good things though

NS EPIC GATHERING @ HUDSON ???? wear tall tees and smoke trees.

They'll be an American flag with a peace sign on it above our ez-up. Or you'll see me chucking glow sticks in the air when the beat drops at the show.

how are you guys bringing your gear from parking to campsite. this no car camping is going to be annoying. just my shit alone: 2-3 30 racks, tent, cooler with food, clothes, 'party table', and an assortment of shit.

how crowded is this going to be compared to Camp Bisco?

Lots of festivals are non car camping. Get creative. We use wheel barrows and grandma carts to haul shit. Make sure your cooler has wheels and you're set. If you have to, take multiple trips.

Ns meetup Friday afternoon? I plan to get there around 10 and Louie and friends won't be there till about 6 so I'll be holding down camp by myself

If you're going to phish. Camping down route 50 .6 miles. If you head south away toward the campgound entrance not the footbridge/avenue of the pines side.

Camping all 3 nights +before and after. Live music before and after everyday. I might be playing a little bit. Good people and good vibes. Even if you're staying somewhere else, pop over and check it out.

The overlap I dislike the most is Modest Mouse and Bro Safari. I know opposites but I love MM and Bro Safari is fun as fuck! Saturday late night is going to be a rager with griz and Moby!!!! Cant wait
