Music Editing Program

I was wondering if anyone knew about some sort of music editing program for a pc. not exactly the garageband type. I am talking about a program to put on music that is on your computer and mix songs together, or edit parts of songs, not splitting beats and lyrics just edit them.

i'm a garageband guy but i used to have something for windows that had a green logo, but i can't find it right now. but if you see one with a green logo that's your best bet...at least on the free price front

audacity its free and thats what i use...by the sounds of things its just what your looking for...just google it

Reason is a really easy to use and has some really great components to it. It has a few synthezisers, a few samplers, and a mediocre drum machine which you can actually do a lot with if you are creative and willing to put the time in. Its interface is really easy to use becuase it gives you actual "wires" that you can link from your mixer to you sythesizers and the other components. I actually got it off a friend of mine so if you can grab it for free i would definately look into it (i'm not really willing to drop several hundred on a editing program that i just jack around on). Online tutorials are easy to find and there are some pretty good ones out there.

Cubase is also a great program but much more complex. Same deal...its expensive and has some really great components in it but like i said, its much harder to use. I am not as well versed in it because i started using reason first and just haven't had the patience to really sit down and figure everything on it.

I rock Acid

after a few weeks of searching i got it through a torrent and now it currently resides in a flash drive on my desk

im not to sure how to work evervthing in it though seeing as I never touch it but its good for cutting sections

Ableton is the best for real, you can really do anything with it, from mashups to Djing to producing to just remastering or mixing.

Its super easey to use too, i picked it up in like a week.

Only bad thing is its pretty expensive, but you can just torrent it, thats what i did.
