Argh this time tommorow im gonna be on morphine having just woken up from surgery. Gonna have my femural plate out, which should be fun. At least im gonna be able to ski properly again now. Anyway, wish me luck guys.

mmm, been there. i had a rod taken out of my femur in august. not fun. make sure you ask for a puke dish for when you wake up. i dunno about you, but i've been under anestesia 3 times, and every time when i wake up, i puke for at least 6 hours. just something to look forward to.

when they ask you to mark your leg, make sure you mark the correct leg!. very important.

good luck though, you'll be fine. give us a status report when you get home. or if they have a comp in the hospital.

oh, just a note on morphiene (sp?).....

it's a head trip. you can't feel a thing. there is no pain when they load you up on the IV painkillers.

i was having some dental work done and they before they hooked me up to the iv, but after id been given shots and put on gas or whatever... they asked me if i drank or did drugs... i was at a party like a week before.... i got all confused.

u must be allergic to the anistetic man, that suxs. when i had reconstructive surgery on my hand i woke up hela fucked up on morphine and it was dope.

Alright here's the deal with morphine/opiates. BE CAREFUL! I have been taking opiates(tramadol, morphine, hydrocodone variants like vicodin and oxycontin and percocet) for about 3 years recreationally. To tell you all the truth, i feel different now. I wouldnt really tell my friends I do them with about this feeling but it is real. Those drugs feel SOOO good. 2 weekends ago we bought some pure morhpine in 30mg tabs. I took 3 of them and felt so amazing that I was an inch away from stealing the rest of all of my friend's tabs. I have taken them from my parents and friends before. It is a beautiful feeling, better than any drug or natural feeling in the world but be careful.

 
Also anyone who says morphine is a 'trip' or that it 'fucks you up' pisses me off. It doesnt do that, it just stimulates your endorphine/opiate receptors in your brain releasing pure endorphine (read: pleasure). Going to sleep is the best on it, or if you take enough you get 'the nod', its like you cant sleep because you feel so good. Damn, i want some now that I have been talking about it.

morphine rocks. when i got hurt the first thing i remembered after was people laughin and im thinking y the fuck r they laughin. turns out my friend said 'dont worry, once u get to the hospital theyll hook u up with morphine' thats why there were laughin. dickheads

because they usually hook up other shit first. like my first time i had something called diloten. huge allergic re action like my throat swelled up. then i ralphed. it was hard to breath. then the next time they used morphine and i have never been so relaxed in my life. anyone ever had verstadt. i dont know how to spell it. but i have never laughed so hard and forgotten so many things in my life.
