Mtl habs will won the stanley cup

I am a Sens fan, and I am not saying we will come anywhere close to winning the cup this year, but MTL does not have nearly enough grit to win the cup. You have too many euro's and russians and not enough Canadians, especially for a team that calls themselves the Canadians.

Lets face it, Kovalev is no playoff player and he will disappear when the going gets tough.
 
the team has like 5 injured players as of right now, koivu might be out for 4 weeks. its not looking too good honestly, they got their ass handed to them on saturday by the leafs of all fucking teams. Not looking to bright , even though im a die hard habs fan

they wont win the cup, its going to be a western conference team. no way in hell an eastern conference team is going to beat out detroit or san jose or anaheim.
 
yeah i agree, i really think its gonna be san jose or detroit - there defenses are just too good, which is all that really matters in the postseason
 
been a wings fan since brett hull got traded to them. i'd love to see the wings win, but hasek in net worries me.

if any canadian team wins i'd like to see it be the canucks...if they make the playoffs

yeah i cant believe hes still playing. im from buffalo and remember him saying that after '99-'00 he would retire but then he got hurt and said he would play one more year. hahah
 
im a sens fan and right now im ashamed of it. Habs will not get to the eastern finals, cup is goin to San Jose, and i feel they deserve it, i dont want Anaheim or Detroit to win just for the fact that i dont like them, but yeah, no go for the habs, sorry buddy!

i cant remember, did he play for the wings last year or was he with the sens? either way i remember last year, game 6, iggy comes down the right side and when he lifted up his leg to shoot i was like "this is going in". sure enough, far side 10 inches off the ice, goal. i have no faith in any of their goalies. they just need a solid goalie, and for their top players to start playing like top players in the playoffs and they might win.
 
I agree with you on just about everything, except a few things:

1. Montreal may take it simply because they have shown an ability to score. Repeatedly. Pretty much at will. Of course they could lose, and the injuries could continue to plague them, but I doubt they'll exit round one and they might go all the way.

2. The Senators will not win the playoffs in the next 5 years. Quote me on it.

Detroit has been around for a few... decades, so I'm sure they've made worse mistakes. But Manny Legace.... here's what I don't understand about Legace. Why do people shoot at his glove hand? If you're on a breakway and you shoot at Manny's glove, you might as well just go back to the locker room and headbutt the skate sharpener because you're useless and you'll never, ever score. The guy's glove hand is unreal, it is simply invincible. Best in the NHL. But he has plenty of weaknesses.

San Jose has to be the favourite. Anaheim still has a shot at repeating if Giggy gets going on a streak.

i really dont agree with many of your arguments. Huet got traded,

putting all the pressure on Price, and he's lived up to it. We all know

that Playoff time shows off a goalie's talents. how can you say we're

out in the first round? you have no way to prove it, oh yeah your

points make sense on paper, but if you were to take the sens for example.when you

look at their players, (alfredsson, heatley, spezza, vermette, fisher,

ETC), on paper, you freak out cause theyre all 40+ points and are all

stars, and you must think theyre the best team but where do the sens stand now? 5th? all in all, you cant claim

the habs to be out first round, just like you cant claim them to win

the cup. i hope they win, but we all know its impossible to say who will

or who wont. Montreal doesnt play western conference teams almost at

all, so who knows what that series would be like if it came down to it.

and believe me, im no leafs fan, but you need to calm down with the way you talk. telling people that theyre stupid and idiots for going to see a hockey game? thats just lame.
 
Its gonna be Pens and Habs in the eastern conference finals. I dont think the Rangers, Devils, or Hurricanes have what it takes to make it that far.

But I'm gonna have to call the Penguins winners in 6 games. The pens are an offensive powerhouse right now. Crosby-Hossa-Dupis, and Malkin-Sykora-Malone are just 2 rediculous lines right now.
 
I disagree with just about everything you have to say. Fine, I'm from Montreal but I still find myself realistic and objective. I dont think Montreal will make the finals. We may have what it takes to get to the semis, but we'll see.

I also think SJ will win it this year. Now to go over your points:

1) First, I think too much is stressed on playoff experience. The team is playing well and I think they would be able keep going in the post-season. Buffalo didnt have much experience going in the playoffs 2 years ago and went to the conference final.

2)Wrong. We are riding 2 rookie goalies. And hell, they've played some bad periods but have mostly done well. I dont think you can honnestly say they arent good enough to get past the first round.

3) Habs havent been on a hot streak all season. They havent been on a cold one either. Crazy team to watch, they lose games they should win and win some they should lose.

4)Mediocre's a bit of stretch. That word should be reserved for when you talk about Ottawa.

5)I think he's done enough to shut everybody up this season. If he goes back to being average/overpaid next season, then fine. But this year he's been great.

6)We need Komisarek back. Thankfully he'll be there in time for the playoffs. Given, our whole team lacks size.

7)It does in the East(but I agree a team from the West is going to win it all).

8)That's not something they can control...we'll see

I think the finals will be the Pens vs the Sharks
 
The Avalanche will win the Stanley Cup -04 line reunited and on fire, don't fuck with Forsberg in the playoffs. Peter, Sakic, Stastny, and Hejduk on the same line? Rediculous Goal scorers.

Seriously... what the fuck is wrong with you Crosby haters... How has he not proved anything? Art Ross Trophy, Hart Trophy... all in his second year in the NHL. He carried a team on his back that was 22-46-14 (2nd last in the NHL) in 05'-06' to a team that made the #5 Playoff spot in 06'-07'. And now he is the captain of the team just won the Atlantic Division. He damn sure would have won Art Ross again this year if he didn't have that ankle injury. If that isn't proof enough... perhaps you should follow a different sport.

Crosby is just like every other hockey great that has played the game. He will do anything for his team. He is no different than the likes of Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman. He plays 110% balls to the wall every night. He fights for every goal, penalty, whatever he can get to help his team. All the haters can eat shit. Pens will see you in the playoffs, in hot pursuit of some team hardware to hang on the mantle.

First off to the guy who said MTL can't ride Price to a cup is an idiot. There the Montreal fucking Canadiens, have you ever heard of Patrick Roy, Maybe Kenny Dryden. In the East Conf. The only goalies I'd rather have is Lundqvist, Broduer and maybe Ward. Penguins could go far with their offence but they can and will be shutdown only haveing two producing lines. It might take a western team to do it but it's not their year. San Jose has all the right parts and the second best record in a tough division.

The icon say it all. We will get our 11th cup in june, count on it.

No one else plays as a complete game as the wings. We got 2 amazing goalies (hasek, osgood) and the second one starts to slip we have got another to come in and shut things down. And Zetterberg is the most underrated, yes underrated player in the NHL. Its either wings or sanjose all the way. Only San jose is the wings choke big like we have the last two years
 
holy claim but anyway.... really watch a couple pens games beginning to end and see how much crosby really bitches. my season tickets are right behind the pens bench i see not nearly as much bitching as you say he does. he takes dirty bows and blades all season id be fucking jacked at the refs too. everyone hates on the best, its a fact of life. this season you would be correct in saying he is not in the top 5 players in the NHL. He missed 29 fucking games you moron. Pure skill at playing the game of hockey considered, Crosby is a solid top three choice with malkin absolutley in the top 10. this will become blatently clear through this years playoffs and next season.
