MTB at Winter Park?

I'm going to be back home for a friends wedding in Winter Park this weekend and I'd absolutely love to get a couple mornings on a bike while I'm there. I've gone into MTB and ski withdrawals for a year now.

Anyone ride at WP? I've ridden at Keystone a lot and I used to ride almost daily in C Springs on Falcon Trail, but I don't know anything about Trestle. My skill level is fairly basic when it comes to downhill, I ride a Rockhopper and climb a ton when I'm home. Any tips? Should I go 2 half days in the morning or will one do it? Maybe a full day on Saturday?

Thanks!

I think you'll love trestle, the majority of keystone's downhill trails are sick but really fucking intense as I'm sure you know... there's some scary shit there. great for the hardcore dh'ers, but I can't imagine you were able to enjoy or even ride a lot of the trails over there on a rockhopper... winter park, on the other hand, seems to have taken a more fun, flowy (?) approach when building their trails, if that makes sense. it's a pretty fun place, and I know they've added a bunch of stuff since I was last there too. if you like to climb I believe WP has some awesome, scenic cross-country trails as well; although I haven't ridden any of that except for when I was a lot younger, so don't take my word for it. have fun!

Winter Park arguably has the downhill mtn in the state. Breck has awesome cross country mtn trails. Keystone is ok. But all around Breck and Keystone there is a ton of XC riding- world class and quite a secret actually, not many people out there except for the resorts.

Don't ride anything but the greens on your rockhopper at Trestle. I'm sure you can get down most trails at keystone and all at Trestle with it but you will impede other riders (like me). There is supposedly some unreal xc around there, I'm sure MTBR.com has a list of trails around WP.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'm gonna rent a DH bike and enjoy some mountain time back home before I have to come back to this desert craphole.
