$20 for mount rose worth it?

from their web cam looks like they have a couple of really small things up...

heavenly worth it? any features? (i would clip a ticket)

anyone been to either ?

depends on how much your jonesing... rose has a longer un than boreal which is kinda cool for getting some speed, but it only has three features; a small, wide flat box followed by a small rainbow box fllowed by a down box... kinda fun but tiny

I would say monday would be worth it cuz noone will be there

u can let me know about heavenly

yeah.. i was worried about going on a sunday... but thinking it may be better then going to boreal (less busy)... and less of a drive... i think we now have a trip planned to go down to mammoth this week.. so maybe ill hold out... thanks for the info!

uhh. no mt. rose is never worth it unless its free. the only thing that place is good for is bombin groomers.

i agree, they used to have a prime ass park, but now its just a joke.I was suppose to work terrain park this year there but they never called me back cus i guess they're too good for me!!!lol

ok so right after i wrote that i wasnt going to go... my friend talked me into it....

it was fun... but yeah not sure if it was worth it...

took a ride up the carpet to check out the three little things they had set up... and um... yeah went back to the lift for the rest of the day....

oh well i just was itching to go! ... i cant wait till thurs... mammoth has 3 parks and some jummmmps! :)

the only way mt rose is gonna get a bomb park is when snowbomb decides to sponsor it, like they did for diamond peak
its sad that they dont have a good park, because if you look at that backside, you can just imagine one of the best parks ever, that slope is near perfect

I've never been to Mt. Rose but you reminded me of something (sorry to go off topic). There's a place called Firebowl at Sierra Summit and it has a T-Bar which is rarely used and is a big wide open area. It's off to the side of the mountain and no one ever goes through it and I always think "Damn they could build a pristine park right there!" It's towards the top so it gets a lot of snow and there's also snowmaking on it too. They would be able to easily build a big jump line, because it is steep enough and then a few box and rail lines along with a medium jump line too. Or build just jump lines. I wish they did that. Sorry for changing topic.

when did snowbomb start doing the park at diamond??
they really need to just put a bunch of rails and boxes under ridge lift, the terrain park used to be there. so ya rails boxes and little jumps on ridge, then big tabletops, harder rails and shit on spillway.

last year's when they started that I think. I actually went one day, because I was staying in the village and didn't feel like driving far at all... It was a bit warm that day so it was hard to keep speed for the jumpline, but they had a few good jibs, and some jumps with really well manicured takeoffs and landings... I had a lot of fun that day, surprisingly.

yeah it's still not that good i thought. couple rails and the jumps were kinda whack with huge takeoffs to really short tables and landings. definitely a step in the right direction, though. maybe i didn't see it get to it's full potential cuz i went in january.

their jibs were not all that great, but when I was there, they had some good jumps, even with kinda ugly conditions..

If anything, I was surprised they even HAD a jumpline...

im going to back up a few posts and make this easy. NO its not worth it. its called Mt. Blows for a reason

yeah it was my first day ever up at rose.... and i was surprised how steep it was and how many chutes there were .... but someone said they are not even that fun on a pow day cause you have to hop around??? really? ... do they get less snow during storms then south lake? ....

my friend who lives in reno is thinking about getting a season pass there... is diamond peak better? (she doesnt really ride park)

diamond peak is definitely not better in my opinion.

in my experience Rose is awesome on a good pow day. the best run of my life hands down was there last year after like 2.5 feet and i was the first one through one of the gates in the chutes to an untracked Beehive... i had to stop half way down because i was literally choking on pow so bad i couldnt breathe.... on a ski 130 under foot. mind you this run was the day after i got back from colorado and jackson hole who had fresh snow the whole time i was there.

you can't knock rose on a pow day.

wait so january isnt full potential then what is?!? any who thats perty much all they have all year. this one day there were like 7crashes on that first medium kicker, so they closed it down. almost every effin lift ride there was someone new.

January is typically a stormy month, as was the case last year. Parks in Tahoe are usually their best in March.

ya i went to diamond cuz my family has a cabin in incline and i didnt want to drive far, but i went when it was warm too, and you couldnt get any speed.
the other good part about diamond is that when you do some really lame trick, all the little kids are amazed, which boosts your self esteem x 10000000
