is mt. millicent at brighton considered backcountry? not the lift served area, but the hike up to the actual summit? im headin out this year and really wanna ski it, but i dont have any bc stuff(probe, beacon, etc.)

You could check the trail map, but Technically I think the summit is considered in bounds. Still there is some hairy slides that come off that thing. Go prepared or don't go.

ok thanks. is there a place you can rent that stuff, i dont wanna ski off the backside or nything. i just wanna ski elevator chute

Well it's kind of pointless to have the gear if you don't know how to use it. It's not like a "get out of avalanche free card". If you will be traveling alone and you don't know very much about snow saftey I suggest staying inbounds. The wasatch range enjoys sliding.

good advice. thanks.i was st brighton last year and as soon as i saw it i wanted it really badly, it was closed the day i was there so i couldnt go up, so im hoping when we go this year i can ski it, but i wont be able to have any avvy gear.
