Mt hood winter season

Anybody know when timberline or meadows usually open for the winter season? Trying to plan a trip down there and need a better idea of when they open usually!
 
^technically winter season at TLine starts Oct 1st. Oct. is snow/ weather dependent and usually they'll only open weekends if it's nice.
 
Kind of crossing threads here but if the girlfriend is convinced on seeing the PNW and I can suggest Portland, is Hood easily accessible from the city and will there be a decent amount open in mid December?

Appreciate the help.

its roughly an hour from Portland, 4x4 or chains required if the road is snowy

guessing conditions for mid December is a complete crapshoot, end of last December was pretty damn low since it rained end of November into mid December, there was 1 jump open at TLine and the runs down from Mile had rocks everywhere. Could be awesome this season though you never know
